This review is a monthish late, but still stands. I stopped by to pick up a few display cupcakes for my husband’s birthday and the girl helping was so helpful and kind (she’s the only reason for the second star). She gave me instructions on how to keep them fresh. I followed said instructions. The cupcakes were so dry when it came time to eat (that night and the next day). One was a cheesecake cupcake of sorts and even that turned out dry and crumbly. I had high hopes and hate that I didn’t have a 5-star experience/cupcakes that others have touted. No plans on going back for more.
As soon as I walked in the door of Gigi's bakery, it reeked of Fabuloso (or similar) cleaner! I was shocked. I thought it would smell like baked goods. It did not. I still wanted to order, since I made the stop. A friendly staff member explained my gluten-free options. I chose a sampler cupcake pack. I took a bite in my car in the parking lot. The cupcakes tasted like Fabuloso (or similar) cleaner!!!! I stopped eating and saved the others for later, thinking my taste buds were off for some reason. Nope! The next one also tasted like cleaner after I let them "air out" for a day. So did the last 2 the next day. I am so disappointed to write this. Please use different cleaners in your bakery. P.S. I love trying new bakeries that offer gluten-free goods. This one was a miss.
I went to try the gluten free options and they did not disappoint! Delicious and very sweet!
It was my first time at Gigi's; I live very close to the store and it was my friend's birthday so I decided to buy a cake. The cashier was very helpful and kind, and the red velvet cake looked very delicious. I followed her instructions, placed the cake in the bottom floor of the car with the AC on. As soon as I got home, cake went straight to the fridge. However, to my surprise, their cake did not last not even 24hours (yes, stored inside the fridge). I did not eat the cake that evening, and welI, I didn't eat it at all because next day when I went to eat it, there was mold on the top of the cake, inside the sugar frosting and the bottom. I was very upset and frustrated because it is not a cheap cake, and half of it was straight to trash. I stopped by at Gigis next day, they got my number, and I am still waiting a contact. The owner called me on the next day, left a voicemail, and I already called back at least 3times the store, and the owner is never there, nor answering the email that I also sent. Anyways, extremely disappointed by paying for a cake that I couldn't even eat it and that did not last not even 24hours. My guess: the cake sold was already "old", not fresh. (Before writing this review, I gave the store the opportunity to contact me and I've been waiting for 10days already)
This beautiful, and oh so cute shop is always fantastic! Everything is flavorful, and the sweets are always so wonderfully decorated. This has been such a fun place to visit with my children over the years. You truly cannot go wrong with any of the flavor combinations, but we’ve found the cheesecakes, lemon cupcakes, and white wedding cake cupcakes to be the most fantastic! I also recommend their beautifully decorated Birthday cakes!
