We had a great dining experience at Gordon Ramsay Steakhouse in Vancouver. We were originaly sat in the dining room, but the tasting menu was only for the lounge so were moved there. The chef (Sebastian Kenzie) came to our table and made some great recommendations. We had the classic Beef Wellington, which I thought was made better than the Las Vegas location. Tuna Tartare was on point. Beef carpaccio was delicious, served with thin and crispy potato chips. We had the salmon with green curry. The salmon skin was so crispy and the meat was moist. And for dessert, we had the classic toffee pudding and the cheesecake. We also had the mac n cheese and brussel sprouts on the side which was amazing! We will definitely come back with our friends.
To start the mushroom risotto is fantastic, better than the wild mushroom side dish I would say. I'll still order the wild mushroom side dish as it is one of the best side dishes. The mac & cheese are a little tough. The Waygu steaks are amazing. Medium rare is perfect and most of the steaks do not require salt. Elisa serves different kinds of salt for you to choose from whereas here I only got 1 kind. Beef Wellington isn't great and I wouldn't recommend it. Lamb is also a good choice. The miso sable fish is among some of the best fish I've had, but I've also had better miso sauce at other places. The lobster on the side was $40 and honestly completely tasteless; the lobster is so small I thought I was served tiger prawns. Costco cocktail shrimps are way better than the lobster. The sticky toffee putting is phenomenal while the cheese cake was average, though it was a nice gesture for a free birthday cake. Been here 4 times and would continue to return to try different dishes.
Definitely lives up to the hype in taste and price 😅 We had an amazing experience, as you'd expect from any Gordon Ramsay restaurant but the highlight of the night was the sticky toffee pudding! First we got some small savory puffs as an amuse bouche. And we ordered the warm bread because we thought it would be one of those places with tiny portions lol. The bread was so light and fluffy with its own flavor... but just a dab of the butter was absolute heaven! Next we had the beef tartare, also delicious with its own unique cheesy and meaty flavor. We got the roasted beef wellington at the same time and it came with potato puree and glazed root vegetables which all really completed the meal for us. The starches felt light but definitely filled us up. And the vegetables were done amazingly too. Finally we had the sticky toffee pudding as our dessert and I could have about this for years! It was not heavy at all. Some might say its a bit sweet but the toffee was smooth and silky so it acted more like a glaze on the pudding than the heavy caramel flavor we're used to. I would go back just for this!! Great experience with service and its quite an upscale place but it was really busy when we went. Love it as an occasional date night or celebration spot but it does hurt the wallet lol!
I’ve followed Gordon Ramsay since his cooking shows, so I had to try this restaurant when it opened in Vancouver. The space is beautifully designed with high ceilings and a modern, upscale feel. We ordered the Beef Wellington for two (CAD 168). The portion isn’t large, but the beef was extremely tender, juicy, and flavorful—great quality. Sides are served separately. The pumpkin soup was decent, and the fresh oysters recommended by the server were fresh and tasty. Tried one of their signature cocktails, which was fun and strong, but steak would probably pair better with wine. Overall, a solid experience with fair pricing for the quality. Would come back to try the wagyu beef next time. ⸻
Our dining experience was amazing and our server Allan was very delightful and entertaining and made our dining fun and have a good laugh. . He provided great recommendations on the food selection. The most impressive part he was able to get my son to eat veggie. The food was amazing. The best onion soup I had, mushroom risotto is so creamy and flavorful. Rib eye was perfect and all the side dishes was delish. Brousel sprouts was yummy. Highly recommended.
