If I could have given a zero star I would. This place is corrupt and run by a con-man. Nicole gave me a quote of $1600 for my move so I booked it with them (Kitchener to St Thomas). I explained to the team leader who arrived the price agreed upon. When we got to St Thomas he approached me and said the price would be closer to $2600!!! You can't be that far off a quote just to get the contract then knowingly crank up the price. When I said I wouldnt pay that amount the team leader contacted the corrpupt con-man in the office who I spoke to. He's a smooth talking prick who's nothing but a crook! He told the team to leave whats left in the truck (75% of my belongings) and drive away. I told them I'd call the police but at this point I knew their con had worked and I had no choice but to pay them. DO NOT book with this company!!! They are nothing but a group of corrupt con-men!!! And the usual suspects!!!
I recently moved with Grand River Moving and I wanted to give an honest review to help other customers. Grand River Moving helped me move in June 2023, and they were great, I had no issues with them, which is why I booked with them again for my recent move. While overall the move went pretty well and the guys were efficient, they were an hour and a half late. I didn’t receive a call for a heads-up and I called their office numerous times to no answer. Eventually I emailed Nicole who thankfully got back to me to let me know they were on their way - this was at about a half an hour past the booked start time. She said she asked my movers to call me to let me know where they were. A half hour later they still were not there and I had received no call. I emailed Nicole again and then maybe 15-20 minutes later they finally called me, and they were still only just leaving. Not only was it very frustrating to be made to wait, I was also disappointed that there was no proactive customer service to give me a heads-up that they would be late. And the guys didn’t seem very apologetic when they called me - just “sorry, there was an issue with the truck, we’re on our way.” Upon paying my bill after everything was moved I did ask for a deduction on my bill to compensate for their error and was denied at the time. I paid the bill in full and a couple days later I reached out to Nicole again and she offered a $100 reimbursement on my bill, which I did receive. I will say the email I received from Nicole at that point was very professional and felt sincere - she said they would be discussing this issue internally, so I really hope they do, and that they work on ways to improve their customer service. I also think they should have a more reliable office number for customers to call if issues arise during moves - as my repeated calls went unanswered (and all the numbers on their website end up at the same guy) and it added to my frustration. I would caution people to be aware of this when booking with them.
Wes and DJ were great! They worked tirelessly to get me moved out and moved in with great attention to ensuring all my belongs were handled with care. Very pleasant to deal with and I highly recommend if you want a lot less stress with your move. They dismantled my craftmatic bed and my treadmill and reassembled in the new place. They packed and unpacked all my clothes very neatly as well and put everything exactly as the box was labeled or as I instructed. Very satisfied with the experience.
We couldn't have asked for anything better! Grand River Moving was able to accommodate a last minute, urgent move of my Mom to a Memory Care Home when no other company could. Duey and Smiley were friendly, professional and so respectful and careful when handling my Mother's beloved belongings as well as her fragile feelings. They understood the delicacy of the situation and for that I am extremely grateful. I highly recommend Grand River Moving and the fabulous Duey and Smiley team!
We called Grand River Moving to help our mom move in to retirement home at the very last minute and these guys were able to get it done! Seriously... With only three days notice they were able to get in move my mom in a very professional and respectful manner. Duey and Smiley were gentlemen and a pleasure to work with. I am very happy to recommend Grand River Moving.
We had an amazing experience with Grand River Moving! Wes and DJ arrived on time and were fantastic from start to finish. They handled all of our belongings with great care and went above and beyond by helping us move a broken fridge from our new place out to the garage - something they absolutely didn’t have to do. Nicole in customer service was also incredibly helpful, walking us through the quote process and answering all of our questions quickly and thoroughly. The whole process was smooth, professional, and stress-free. I genuinely loved dealing with this company and would highly recommend them to anyone in need of movers!
