First time visit, cool little, safe neighborhood. Crowded but the service was fast. Moved faster than we could chose a flavor! Lol! Outstanding and delicious ice cream. Kids loved it!

Reminds me of childhood memories of ice creamery stores likes Moo's back in the 70's it was so good. Totally Nostalgic with all the variations of flavors. I do not know if it's only during the holidays but they have eggnog and a eggnog flavored ice-cream. They make sandwiches as well. The customer service is excellent. The staff members actually hit the ball out of the park themselves with customer service. They allow you to try numerous flavors if you like. I always know exactly what I like but the quality of their products are GREAT and that's hard to say in this economy but this business here is not cutting any corners to provide the consumer with excellent product. Just as rich and creamy as the first day I tried it for the first time. Even for a family outing take a ride to Sacramento just for this ice cream. I do come from the bay area when I can because it's well worth the treat and the trip. Again this place is great and they have set a very high bar for the competition. Yet there's room for other's. If you have not visited please do and have your taste buds awakened.
I highly recommend the 50/50 fruit freeze, sooo good. The fruit freeze made with real fruit chunks plus the creamy vanilla ice cream is such a good combination. I got the pineapple, vanilla and strawberry 50/50. Gunther’s is a local spot in sac that’s been open since the 1940’s. Check this place out if you haven’t yet!
Absolutely the best ice cream in town! 🍦 Gunther’s Ice Cream never disappoints — from the moment you walk in, you’re greeted by that nostalgic charm and the smell of freshly made waffle cones. Their ice cream is rich, creamy, and full of flavor — you can taste the quality and care in every scoop. My personal favorites are the 50/50 (strawberry and/or mango freeze + vanilla/pineapple coconut/coconut/taro/coffee ice cream/mint chip) but honestly, you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. The staff are always friendly, and even when the line wraps around the corner, it’s totally worth the wait. Gunther’s isn’t just an ice cream shop — it’s a Sacramento tradition. Perfect for family outings, date nights, or just treating yourself after a long day. Highly recommend! 🙌🍨
