Even two years ago when I had issues with a plan we chose not covering a doctor that was listed as covered every where we looked, she was right there with me trying to figure out what the problem was and why there was no way for either of us to have known about that specific insurance company contracting out it's mental health coverage. HealthMarkets Insurance has been managing all my insurance needs for 6 years now. I had moved and attempted to work with five different agents, one after another; each disappointed. Though this process, it became abundantly clear that not all agents are entirely competent. I feel very fortunate to have found HealthMarkets. They saved me in that moment of crisis. My grace period was on the verge of expiring, and it was the very last day of the month. Not only did they get me what was clearly better coverage, they did it for literally half the cost, as compared to any competing quote. I know that sounds impossible, but it is because HealthMarkets knows the intricacies of the system and so they ask all the right questions. Other agents seem to operate on cookie cutter mode. I decided to put all my insurance with HealthMarkets and executed an "AGENT/BROKER OF RECORD CHANGE" to do so. Do yourself a favor and call them immediately.
