I called early Saturday morning just after opening. Had the pleasure to talk to Pickles(Gillian). I’ve been on customer service for over 40 years and this young lady was such a pleasure to talked to. She had to research my question and called me back. She was a bright sun to my day. I went in to shop that day to meet her. I met just about everyone there. Talked to various employees for some time. What a delight. They introduced a plant for my fountain (which I also bought there years ago.) it’s such a pleasure to stroll through their gardens and talk about plants with anyone walking by. I am a lifelong shopper and I tell everyone I know about them. Keep up the great work
Visited on a weekend evening. This Gardens has most variety of plants i ever seen in Austin.Ambience is good and they have great ideas to decorate the backyard with options &pond. Great staffs explaining the details. All garden needs available in one place. Have a good visit
What a beautiful tranquil place. Walk around and get inspired. Feels like a park. Drove from Bee Cave to get water plants for our freshly cleaned pond. We bumped into Natasha. What a joy! We wanted to buy from her. She was so helpful and very knowledgeable. The plants are genuinely her babies. She spoke about them with such love and care. She makes you want to buy some. We left with a gorgeous well loved water lilly. Natasha can even have visitation if she likes, lol. We will definitely be back for more, or just to take a tranquil relaxing walk.
10 OUT OF 10!!!...will wander again. :-D Absolutely blown away. Hill Country Water Gardens isn't just a nursery...it's a full-blown botanical mini-adventure. It's the kind of place where you come for a plant and end up staying for the vibes. Think of it as a garden center meets a peaceful mini outdoor museum. Everything is beautifully organized by plant type, making it easy to find what you're looking for...or, more likely, making it easy to get joyfully distracted while you wander. There are cozy benches for daydreaming, koi ponds full of personality, colorful lily pads that pop out and wave at you, and the kind of friendly staff that actually makes you want to ask questions. Inspiration? It's everywhere. From the water features, to the whimsical sculptures, to lush displays that make you rethink your whole gardening vision. There are restrooms if nature calls, and there are plenty of delightful garden goodies to buy/take home. It's rare to find a place that feeds your inner gardener, your creative soul, and your serotonin all at once...but somehow, this place pulls it off. I'm so glad it exists.
This is one of my favorite places in Austin. Often when I need a little peace and quiet, I’ll go here with a coffee and just admire all the beautiful plants and fountains. The extremely knowledgeable staff can help with any garden questions you have and they even have a help line you can call. Every time I’m looking for a new plant I make sure to consult with the staff, they have tons of insight into how to plant, what soil to use and the best composting approach. The prices can be a bit higher than other places, I consider that they earn every bit of that premium and more with the healthy plants and expert knowledge they include with each purchase :)
