Wayne responded promptly when we called to say a warning light had come on. He resolved that issue and performed a full service check. He was polite and communicative both before and after the service. We’ve been very happy customers for about 3 years now!
I’ve been with Home Team for quite a few years since I’ve moved to Raleigh. Always had good quality work done. After the work, they explained everything that was done. Very efficient and friendly workers.
UNBELIEVABLE.. So after 20 years of being a HomeTeam customer, I decide to change to another company that is (1) cheaper and (2) more informative about the particulars of my property than HomeTeam had been in any of those 20 years. Also I was tired of being repeatedly called by HomeTeam and being sent emails saying that I owed 500+ dollars for overdue service that I didn't owe - they want you to prepay the year in advance.. I prefer to pay monthly or quarterly. And after several times calling them and confirming that I had no overdue invoices, the overdue invoice calls and emails kept on a-coming. And then I cancel and change to another service. And so freakin' HomeTeam comes out and REMOVES the entirety of all the termite bait stations which, as I understand, they DO NOT OWN. They were just supposed to take out the bait from inside the stations and leave the stations for the next company to refill. That's what every other pest control company I've called (for reference) said they do. I will now be paying significantly more for the new company to install all new termite stations.. which, by the way, they said they'd leave behind if I decided to cancel their service (imagine that). I had originally planned to call HomeTeam and cuss them out vigorously.. but you know what? If this is how you treat customers after 20 years, I don't have anything worthwhile to say to you because I'm sure you don't really care. It would be a waste of time, energy, and creative profanity. For anyone old enough to remember this quote from an old TV cartoon show, HomeTeam Pest Defense is just like grade school in the summertime - NO CLASS.
I wish I had a positive experience like the other 5 star reviews but I didn’t. I reached out via the contact form last weekend for a quote and was contacted by Ryan on Monday. He was easy to talk to and answered our questions so I decided to go ahead and schedule our first service for Thursday. I received the agreement/contact and signed them promptly online but didn’t get a confirmation email or text for the Thursday service. I didn’t think anything of it at the time since I was so busy that day. Thursday (today) comes and I make sure I’m home during the timeframe because I wanted to show the technician a picture of a pest. I realize I still didn’t get a confirmation or an arrival text from the technician and it’s almost 10min before the timeframe was over. I called the Durham branch and spoke with someone (Alexis? Alexa?) and she looked into my account and said my appointment was cancelled. She told me something was wrong with my agreement/contact- that it wasn’t returned in time or by the deadline (not sure how that happened as I signed the agreement within 2 hours of receiving it Monday morning) and the sales rep Ryan (who she said wasn’t based at the branch) needed to contact me and get back to me about the issue. She said something about the sales rep was with the customer service team so I asked for that number and as she was getting the number for me the line went silent and then hung up. I’m not sure if we got disconnected accidentally or she hung up on me. I called back immediately and get a different person. She told me the appointment was cancelled for a reason that happened on their end and offered to reschedule me. I accepted and asked for ASAP. She offered Monday but I asked for the next day if possible. She said she’d ask in a meeting and would call me back around 4pm. Needless to say, she never called me back so I called yet AGAIN and got another rep on the phone. I had to explain what happened for the THIRD time and after she looked into it, she reiterated that the sales rep Ryan needed to call me and they at the branch did not have the authority to schedule me for the first service. At this point, I did not want this company to handle my pest control since it was such a hassle to even get scheduled accurately, so I asked to cancel and she told me Ryan would have to do that. She thankfully had his number so I called him. He apologized for what happened and after I asked if it was anything I did wrong or didn’t submit the form correctly, he told me it was an issue on their end. I declined on being rescheduled and cancelled. This experience was super disappointing because I see the HomeTeam Pest Defense trucks in my neighborhood all the time and my neighbors recommended it to me. If it’s this disorganized and difficult to get the service set up, I can’t trust it to be a good company to handle my pest control. What a terrible first and only impression.
We recently purchased a home that had been previously monitored by Home Team Pest defense. It also had the TAEXX built-in tubes. Once we were able to finally get on the schedule with Home Team they sent Davis a technician out to the house. He let me know that he also previously worked on our property. Davis was incredibly detailed explained, explained and took his time going through our crawlspace which is not huge and really did a very nice job. He also replaced and threw away all of the old in ground termite stations.
