Fantastic service! Very straightforward and thorough, showed up on time (even a little early!) and made sure my apartment was spotless prior to my move-out walkthrough with my landlords. Absolutely would reccomend.
Overall, the service was ok. For just $150 for a 1-time cleaning, we were satisfied with the price and thought it was fair. For future use, we will just be clear to cleaning team about areas to focus on day of instead of relying on the scheduler to relay the information. The bathrooms were cleaned ok, the kitchen and floors were not mopped. — We were recommended this service from a friend who gets a 1-bed, 1-bath cleaned for $140. Our 2-bed, 2-bath apartment was quoted for a 1-time standard clean for $150. Scheduling was simple through the quote/questionaire. An associate called to confirm details of the planned cleaning shortly after submitting a request. This include confirmation of the 40-point standard cleaning checklist, time of arrival (which we chose flexible), and arrival instructions. We were not notified that the cleaner had arrived at our apartment complex (although they said they would on the phone). Instead, our front desk attendant called us directly to let us know the cleaner had arrived. The woman was very nice. She did a great job in the bathrooms as a high level clean, although the pink “stuff”/scum in the showers was still visible. There was also spots left unclean in the floor in the kitchen — small piles in the corner were still dirty after she left. She also did not seem to follow the company’s 40-point standard cleaning checklist instead focusing on what she thought was important. She did a decent job for the first service!
The cleaners who came out were kind and very professional. They worked steadily for hours and didn’t miss the little touches, like arranging the pillows neatly and wiping down the window sills. While I wish they had spent a little more time in the kitchen, they more than made up for it by how spotless the bathrooms looked. Overall, I left very happy with the service and would book again.
Honestly did a mediocre job - definitely not worth the value - they sent a single cleaner to clean a 2 bedroom, 1.5 bathroom home, and she was here for roughly 2 hours and then left - there's absolutely no way to be super thorough with that small of a time. With the price I paid, I'd expect a team of least two cleaners - or the expectation that if it's only a single cleaner, it's ok for the cleaning to take longer. Additionally, let's be honest, it seems to me there’s a lot of review farming happening for these guys - a lot of new reviews seem to be from accounts where the only review is for this company - seems shady.
If you are reading reviews, please consider my experience before booking with this company. This will be lengthy but I do feel it is important to share. I booked Hometress for a deep cleaning. The day of, one person showed up and was done in around an hour and a half. I thought that was a bit quick but this is my first time using a cleaning company so I did not know better. The cleaning they provided was not a deep cleaning and could barely be considered on par with a regular cleaning. I informed the company, with proof, that what I paid for was not provided. They sent back the cleaner without informing me beforehand to try to clean again but at this point I was on my way to work and no longer trusted the company. They stated that my apartment had pet hair and that this was an added cost for removal. Regardless, many of the criteria for deep cleaning had nothing to do with pet hair and were not completed. Additionally, Hometress has you send pictures of your place before service is provided. I asked my CC company for a refund for the service not provided. Following this, I recieved email and text from Hometress informing me that the deposit was non-refundable and if I do not pay by a certain date, it will be sent to third-party collections agency and may proceed to small claims court. Regardless of what Hometress may respond to this review, I want to make sure that anyone looking for a cleaning service is aware of my experience. I have several photos to back my review and I do not benefit from telling my story. I just want to make sure people are aware before potentionally making the same mistake I did. The pictures I shared are from after the "deep cleaning" and I have even more. *Responding to Hometress response* There were not multiple contact attempts, and I will gladly show screenshots of text communications. Offering $40 refund for this was not comparable to service provided. You sent the cleaner back to my apartment without informing me ahead of time, or asking if that was what I had wanted. I understand chargebacks are difficult, but I was left with no choice. If I didn't have sufficient proof, the chargeback would have been denied. This review isn't due to you enforcing your policy. I will follow your policy, but I want to share my story regardless. I understand you've "successfully resolved thousands of service issues" through your White Glove guarantee, but why are there thousands of service issues in the first place? Again, I do not benefit from sharing my story.
