Food was delicious. Food is mainly family style and portion is enough for 2-3 adults. My husband and I didn't know this and ordered General Chow Chicken and Mongolian Beef, in which we took a majority of it home. FYI: Not great reheated. We also got the Hot and Sour Soup-very good! If 2 people are getting the same soup, I recommend getting the small individual bowls. We ordered the large bowl to share for $1 more and it filled both our soup bowls. Get the large bowl if 3 people are getting the same soup. We live out in S.A and will definitely be back.
The food was really disappointing and the atmosphere is pretty basic. I ordered the egg roll and Brisket Hot Pot. The egg roll was pretty basic although the sauce they pair it with is yummy. The hot pot was very bland with spice. It seemed like they relied on the spice for flavor. The brisket was mostly fatty pieces. Can’t say that I’d be back
Really great restaurant to come at least to try at the very minimum. Would suggest to get there early because it fills up extremely fast. We got there like 10 minutes after they opened on a Sunday and it was practically full. We ordered the General Tso Chicken, jumping fish, green beans and wonton soup. They were all delicious and amazing. Entrees range $15-$20 but they give good portion sizes so it’s worth it
Busy. Quick. Spicy. Loved this place and specially the Sichuan dry stir-fry chicken. IT WAS SO CRUNCHY! The spice was perfect. I can’t wait to go and try it again. The cumin beef, on the other hand, did not live up to the expectations. There was too much cumin in it. The smell of cumin was too overpowering and I really think it is an overhyped dish at this place. I will definitely be back and try the hot pot and other things, just not cumin beef.
We had a flavorful experience at The House of Gorges! Tried the Fresh Pepper Jumping Fish, which was tender and packed with bold, peppery heat which was definitely a standout. The Cumin Lamb was fragrant with just the right amount of spice, while the Mala Chicken brought that addictive numbing kick without overwhelming the palate. The Beef with Green Onion was comforting, juicy and well balanced. I love beef! The Fish Fillet Hotpot came bubbling and aromatic, loaded with flavor. Fried rice was simple but a nice base to balance the mains. A great spot if you’re into spicy Sichuan flavors!
