I started training with my PT Sarf after a difficult period in my personal life, having taken time away from the gym and lost a lot of confidence in myself. From the very beginning, he created a space that felt safe, structured and genuinely supportive. I train with him twice a week and every session is thoughtful and intentional. The workouts are clearly planned, progressive and motivating — I can see and feel my strength building week by week. He’s incredibly professional, but also deeply human in how he coaches. He adjusts sessions when I’m injured, tired or carrying stress from outside the gym, without ever letting me lose belief in what I’m capable of. He’s also put together a meal plan that feels realistic and supportive rather than restrictive, which will also make a huge difference to my consistency and mindset. What really sets him apart is his ability to make you believe in yourself again. He always gets the best out of me — not through pressure, but through encouragement, trust and quiet confidence in my ability, even on days when I don’t have it myself. I’m stronger physically, but more importantly, I’m stronger mentally. I couldn’t recommend him highly enough.
Really helpful & friendly gym staff! Especially thankful to Olivia, who has been a great support and personal trainer during my fitness journey. Olivia has made fitness enjoyable and digestible. In the past, I struggled with the confidence to use the equipment and go to the gym consistently. Now, I can show up to the gym with ease and even lift weights! She has always been very patient and understanding, catering my sessions and fitness plan to my specific goals. Highly recommend her coaching!
JD Gyms Manchester is a fantastic facility with plenty of top-quality equipment (my fave is the sauna!), a great central location, and friendly staff who create a welcoming atmosphere overall. With that said, the real standout here is my personal trainer Saf - he's an absolute game-changer and the main reason I've seen such incredible results. Thanks to his expert guidance, tailored training plans, and unwavering support, I've managed to lose over 20kg in a sustainable way that feels achievable rather than overwhelming. Saf's kindness and empathy make every session enjoyable; he truly listens, understands your challenges, and motivates you without ever being too pushy. What impresses me most is his genuine willingness to help everyone whether it's offering quick advice on the gym floor or going the extra mile for his clients. His enthusiasm and positive energy keep you coming back even on the toughest days, and he has a remarkable knack for celebrating every small victory along the way, which has built my confidence immensely. I've also noticed how he adapts workouts perfectly to individual needs and limitations, ensuring progress without risking injury. Beyond the physical training, Saf excels at incorporating nutritional advice that's realistic and personalised, drawing from his deep knowledge without overwhelming you with jargon. He's always up-to-date on the latest fitness trends but grounds everything in proven science, making sure your journey is both effective and safe. What sets Saf apart is his holistic approach to wellness; he doesn't just focus on the gym sessions but encourages balance in life, like managing stress and sleep, which has transformed not only my body but my overall mindset. I’ve been a member of JD since day one, and I must say, it’s probably one of the best gyms I’ve been to. The new transformation, with all the upgraded machines and bar racks, is incredible and really sets it apart. And of course, a big shoutout to the staff. From the caretakers to the PTs and managers, everyone looks after the place so well. They’re always friendly, and they create a great environment to work out in.
Recommend my PT Maria! She not only possesses strong professional abilities, but also makes me confident in fitness! I have never worked out before, and everything in the gym is unfamiliar to me. She explained the form to me in a thoughtful and meticulous manner, and constantly cared my situation during the course to adjust the training plan, which was very thoughtful! Thanks to Maria, I am constantly improving and becoming stronger under her encouragement. I am glad to have worked out with her, and my physical fitness has greatly improved!!!
