Historically they have been a good source for both retail and auction. Not sure what's going on lately but service and reliability has declined dramatically. In the past couple months I've had repeated problems with receipt and payment on auction sales as well as shipping for online retail purchases. Probably gonna switch to another source as my primary going forward.
It would be difficult to find a crew at a wine store that is as educated on wine as K&L. There are experts on wines from almost any region in the world. They are friendly and helpful. The store is expertly organized along with well-written notes on many wines which usually include how many points the experts gave a wine. Since they buy directly without a middle man, the prices are fair. They train their staff with many tastings and with trips to the major wine regions to hear from the vitners themselves...from barrel to bottle. Their website is outstanding for usability and education. Their wine clubs are great deals which also gives you extra discounts and exclusive access to many rare or new-release wines. 5 stars.
This iconic San Francisco Wine and Spirits store has been doing it right for decades. The wine selection, both domestic and imported, is both broad and deep - and incredibly fairly priced. The spirits selection is not quite as broad and deep as the wines but is pretty impressive. You can order online and pick up if that works for you too.
I recently used K & L Wines SF for my daughter’s wedding in Portland. They did a terrific job… The wine arrived a week away so that we could get it into the proper refrigeration and then we moved it into the venue space. Everything went smoothly, and they kept me informed all along the way… Not to mention the terrific wine and the price that went along with it! Thank you
My favorite booz store in town - love the varieties: they got wines, whiskey, and sake and beers! I pay a visit to the place every time I’m near by. Plus, price is very fair. Recommend checkout the availability on website before going, if you targeting something specific
