Finally got in this place. After a few failed attempts I finally got here where the line wAs less than an hour. Plan ahead as they usually will tell you wait in the car or put your name down and come back in 15-30 min. Otherwise. The service was very good. Food wS excellent. Omelet, waffle and skillet brunch items were all top shelf. Most items are $10-20 and then add coffee and other items. Portions are good. Food was fresh and fast. Highly recommended and I plan on being back.
Normally if I walk into a restaurant and see a big crowd, I immediately want to leave because I assume the wait will be long and the staff will be overwhelmed. But the moment we walked into Korner Kitchen, the hostess greeted us with the biggest smile and said “Don’t be afraid. How many do you have?” For some reason, that instantly put me at ease. Despite how busy it was, the entire staff was incredibly pleasant. Everyone was smiling, wishing us a Merry Christmas, and even taking the time to say hi to my little daughter. There was such a cheerful atmosphere and not a hint of impatience anywhere. The food was excellent and very reasonably priced. I ordered the classic breakfast for $14 and could not even finish it because the portion was so generous. The bacon was especially good and the overall quality of the food really stood out, especially compared to chain restaurants that charge more for less. Service was fast, the vibe was warm, and they truly nailed it even during peak season. We will absolutely be back again and again.
Korner Kitchen doesn’t cut corners in providing excellent food and service! Was invited by someone familiar with this restaurant and who raved about their breakfasts- they weren’t wrong. Lindsay provided attentive, friendly and happy service, with frequent coffee refills. My companion’s poached eggs were cooked exactly as she requested, and they were very pleased with the avocado toast and scrumptiously fresh fruit bowl. My basic breakfast was great. It wasn’t surprising that there was a long line at the front door as every table and booth was filled, including the bar area, on a weekday morning. Very impressed.
I visited Korner Kitchen for brunch and had the Fiesta Skillet with over-easy eggs and a cold brew. The food was decent and nothing extraordinary, but solid diner fare. The decor blends fancy and casual, with a polished vibe but still the comfort of diner booths. It’s a great spot for a relaxed brunch, though not a standout experience.
Stopped by for lunch while we were in Waterloo. The parking lot was full but there was no wait for a table. The server was very friendly and checked in on us throughout our stay. Love the fact that they serve all day breakfast and lunch. Their portion size is very generous, so come hungry! We ordered the crab cake (the outside of crispy and inside was soft, it was seasoned a bit strong with black pepper), Berry Crepe (it was refreshing to see how much fruits they packed into the crepe, it came with whipped cream and syrup on the side), Pacific Benedict with fruit bowl (overall good), Grilled Vegetable Panini and coleslaw (the bread was nicely toasted and loaded with lightly seasoned grilled vegetables and goat cheese), and the kid's breakfast (a huge portion for $7!).
