What started as a simple alignment-coupon visit back in mid-June ended with a completely fried transmission just 95 days later — and me having to buy a new car. When my vehicle suddenly lost all drive function (no forward or reverse), I took it straight to Planet Ford because I assumed I was dealing with an internal transmission failure. That’s when I learned the truth: the transmission had lost its fluid due to a major leak at the driver-side CV axle — the exact area Kwik Kar had serviced. Had I known the axle work and the transmission failure were connected, I would have returned to them immediately. I only agreed to replace the entire CV axle because Clayton, the shop manager, told me the torn boot near the driver’s-side tire required a full axle replacement. All I can do now is warn others: please think twice before bringing your vehicle there. The promises of help were not followed through, the accountability never came, and I would not wish this experience on anyone. UPDATE: The owner, Mahmoud “Mo” Mustapha, has declined responsibility for the outcome. For transparency, they are not BBB-accredited. “Certified” doesn’t replace accountability. His response clearly shows you the type of person he is. The Ellis Family should not allow people like him to ruin the Family Business.
My daughter had car trouble 12 hours away from home. Clayton at Kwik Kar did an awesome job of getting the car going again. Very friendly and reasonably priced! Great work!
Aw a transplant new to Dallas I’m so appreciative of quality honest service and friendly faces. I’ve come here a few time and Daphne has ALWAYS delivered service with a great persona and smile! It’s a pleasure walking in and seeing her! As I came to get an issue looked over Clayton was honest and reassuring of my concerns and was very accommodating to finding a solution that for my situation. I’m so grateful to have a neighborhood car service and this location is doing a phenomenal job!
I visited this shop 3 times regarding my check engine light and each time they could not figure out what the issue was and sent me on my way. They would simply reset the light and it would come back on a week after each reset. I would NOT recommend this location if you are looking for an actual solution to your car issues. It seems they have more of a bandaid fix operating model. Again, do not recommend!
The crew here is great. I’ve used them for oil service previously but today I had an unexpected screw in my truck’s tire and they plugged it on the fly for me, fast and efficient as well as friendly. Highly recommended!
