Great people and a neat facility for a great day on or near the water. Parking is up the hill, and a bit of a walk. The Marina has picnic tables and many varied rentals of boats and a gas dock. Fishing from the Marina docks is available for a fee. Down a sidewalk is a floating dock for crappie (no fee). In the marina store, you can purchase snacks, fountain sodas, coffee, and packaged sandwiches. There is also a variety of fishing lures, baits, or tackle. They also sell food to feed the fish or ducks and geese.
We drove almost around the whole lake. They had sone playgrounds available which was great for my grandson. Visited woth some really nice people who were catfishing by the marina. I guess the lake does not have a beach area??
This is my go to spot for fishing. I rarely leave empty handed. I fish mostly at night so I love the concrete dock that has lighting available. It can get crowded during the day, but thins out significantly after 7pm. Park Rangers patrol pretty frequently so safety is a minimal concern. There is also a bathroom available close by, which for night fisherman is always a bonus.
The marina itself is almost nostalgic, very cute and quaint and overpriced (as expected). However, I went for the kayaking and $10 an hour seems fair to me! They have free lockers to toss your stuff in which is a plus! And the kayaking itself was relaxing and beautiful. There’s times you hear cars on the road or people on their boats of course but it’s a great and convenient little spot so close to KC
Went out on the lake with one of the pontoon boats with my girlfriend's family and LOVED it. The lake is gorgeous, it was a great day for weather, and the staff was easy to work with. The boat was great, had speakers and was easy to run with plenty of seating. Everyone was comfortable and able to just take in the views of the lake and all the trees on the shoreline. Especially beautiful this time of year with the leaves changing for fall. Also saw a fair amount of wildlife! The usual birds around the water but we also saw a small deer along the shoreline, turtles, and more. Definitely recommend the pontoon boats whether you want to do a full day or even just cruise for a few hours. Lake Jacomo is beautiful and this is a fun way to experience it.
