I hosted my 40th birthday at Lavender Grill, and it was flawless from start to finish. After weeks of searching, choosing this venue was the best decision I made. The people, décor, elevated vibe, and beautiful purple-themed lighting created the perfect setting for a milestone celebration. General Manager Hanodin and his team provided exceptional customer service — no request was too big or too small, communication was seamless, and every detail was handled with care. The staff were warm and attentive, the food was delicious, and my guests loved the venue. It was an unforgettable experience I will never forget. I look forward to returning soon!
The food was delicious and the atmosphere was great! The music might have been a tad loud for a romantic date, but it was perfect for a party or birthday celebration. I think the tables near the windows could have been a bit warmer. Thank you so much to Shelley, our server, for making our experience the best. You were so friendly, helpful and made my date night special!
went here with a friend we ordered a pasta dish and one of the chicken sandwiches. the food was good. nice portion sizes decent prices. nothing crazy. it's a calm-ish vibe more laidback cause of the lighting but the place is still lively especially when it gets busy. i will say the place is missing smt with the atmosphere cause it feels kinda empty in a way and also the service. the waitress made us feel a little rushed cause as soon as we put our fork down and finished our meals shed immediately spawn out of nowhere and take our plates one by one. im not complaining but it was just hilarious. but nonetheless she was great and really helpful and answered all our questions. we came at a relatively busy night and they sat us really quickly which i appreciate. again it's a nice place i just thought my experience was funny.
The Lavender Bar & Grill is the perfect atmosphere for great food and jazz music in the Ottawa, Canada music scene. The restaurant is perfectly themed, with a smooth, warm feel inside with wisteria themed decor and nice mood lighting. Plenty of different table options and feels in different parts of the restaurant. We sat in the middle area in view of the band which was perfect for us, not too far away. The place was mostly filled up when we left around 9 pm. A nice variety of respectful patrons. We went to view the live jazz band which is a local fixture in this scene and other venues in the vicinity. The “Ottawa Pocket Jazz Band” has a great repertoire of songs and the singing is excellent by the stylish and butter-smooth Floyd Hutchinson. He has a great vocal range and that power! Oooh. The band plays everything with the passion you’d expect. Got to rub shoulders with Floyd and catch up, and met Norm the sax man…smooth operator he is. There was no cover charge for the band, but a handy ‘thanks’ jar and set up to say thank you for a nice experience - didn’t forget to tip the band for the fun evening. The food is excellent, along with many other superlatives. My wife had the Lavender Ravioli and I had the Chicken Parm - both good size servings - along with a Calamari Appetizer and a Caesar Salad. Wifey had the Lavender Mocktail - ooh that gorgeous purple colour with a dried lime round and the lime tang with the sweet and sour bite hits the right places! For desert we had the Blackberry Tart served on a slate platter drizzled with a coulis. Crumbly creamy deliciousness. Our server Viggo was fun, attentive and respectful. Loved his great personality even in the short time we interacted. Well-deserved tip. The front welcome staff were attentive and helpful too. Thanks to them. As we left the restaurant and I was taking a picture, a couple walking by looking for a place to eat asked how we liked it, and they went in based on our experience (and the mention of Jazz). Would be great if there was a sign outside that explained “live Jazz band”. More eyes on the scene.
We just came here tonight for my birthday! We came a little early so we had to wait a few minutes - but they gave us a table to sit at, offered us drinks on the house and we were only waiting about 10 minutes. Our server, Viggo, was excellent!!! Very attentive - just the right amount. His recommendations were great, and he is very friendly! Overall, an excellent experience and we are happy we came here tonight :) thank you! Ps the kiwi breeze drink is AMAZING!!!!
