In the short timeframe that Matt worked with my high schooler prepping for the ACT, he was very efficient, encouraging, and nailed exactly where there was the most room for growth. They met once a week for about a month or so and the resulting score exceeded our expectations! We highly recommend!
We can't recommend Matt's services enough. We had two experiences that were both fantastic, one for a son preparing for the ACT and one for a son preparing for the military ASVAB test. In the case of the ASVAB test, our son had done no school related activities for years, and Matt helped him score high enough to qualify for all military jobs. In the case of the ACT test, Matt helped improve the overall score by 6 points and in some areas the results were more dramatic. In both cases, neither of our sons complained about the sessions nor the outside work involved, and both genuinely appreciated Matt's approach, his demeanor, and the results they achieved together. Matt started tutoring me when I was in eighth grade. At that point he mostly helped me with my writing skills. I ended up becoming a strong writer throughout all of high school thanks to Matt's help. Throughout high school, Matt would go on to help me master my math skills–including Algebra I & II, Geometry, Trigonometry, and Pre-Calculus–and he would coach me with rigorous ACT and SAT practice exams. Matt helped me reach and exceed my SAT and ACT score goals! Matt has a great sense of humor and personality, he is always fun to talk to too, and I am so glad to have been coached by him! Matt is a competent, charismatic, and organized tutor! I would recommend Matt to anyone who is looking for help with improving their essay-writing skills, their math skills in many different topics, and with ACT and SAT prep.
My senior year of high school, I worked with Matt to improve my ACT score. When I started working with Matt, my score was a 30. Through weekly tutoring sessions for around 2 months and the excellent practice exams he gave, we were able to raise my score to a 33. He did this by coaching me through problems and strategies while taking these tests, which I applied on the real ACT. Well worth the investment (tutoring with anyone can definitely be a bit pricey!) if you're looking to boost your ACT score for scholarships.
Matt really helped my son prepare for the ACT. He's very knowledgeable and good at what he does and was very well prepared & organized for the sessions. My son really enjoyed working with him and learnt a lot from him! His professional yet casual approach makes the sessions enjoyable for whoever he's teaching, but he is serious enough to also get results! I'd highly recommend him to anyone looking for SAT/ACT prep!
