This is probably one of the best bookstores I have been to in my life. I loved the selections of each category, especially the philosophy and poetry sections (and I enjoyed they were arranged side-by-side). Often times I find most other bookstores carry the same typical books or have a very limited amount of any available. I was able to find books and anthologies on topics I had never seen available before. The staffers were also incredibly kind. Will definitely come back here again!
McNally Jackson is a beautifully curated bookstore with a cozy, artistic vibe. The selection is incredible, the staff is helpful as hell, and every corner feels inviting. Perfect place to wander, read, and get lost for a while. Easily one of NYC’s best indie bookstores.
This was the loveliest bookstore I’ve ever been to! The layout was gorgeous, interesting parts in each and every corner, and even places to sit and enjoy a nice reading session! The staff were very polite and helpful, showing me where the things that I needed were very swiftly.
This is a nice bookstore for buying new books. Under competitive pressure many sellers of new books tend to have a very homogenous selection. McNally manages to have a much better selection than many non-secondhand sellers, and I can't exactly explain how they do it. The store's interior is lovely; if you love books, you'll want to spend some time here.
I cannot remember the last time I walked into a bookstore and I sensed the feel of a true community. Neighbors and new acquaintances were chatting, employees were buzzing about helping customers, and everyone just seemed content. This McNally Jackson store has some magic that needs to bottled up and shared with their other stores. Even after I picked up the half dozen books I sought after, I hung around chatting and perusing my many wonderful options. Visit for perfectly curated collections. Stay for the vibes.
