Beware of fake prices on their website. Booked an appointment for a pre purchase inspection as I was buying a used vehicle, but they canceled my appointment because they wanted to charge me double the rate even though on their website it was “standard rate”. They wanted me to fork over the money or wait until Monday which wouldn’t work since the car I am seeing is being seen by multiple people looking to buy, and by then it might’ve been too late. The person on the phone that called me to inform me of the cancellation had a rude attitude/tone as well, Charles I believe? Almost like it’s my fault the prices advertised on their website are incorrect. I cannot speak for their services as I never even got the chance to use them, but my first impression wasn’t a good one. My local mechanic did a sufficient enough job for a fraction of the price + a well deserved tip. I’d recommend looking elsewhere for services.
We booked Charles Armstrong for a pre-purchase vehicle inspection on October 8, 2025 at 10:30 AM. The appointment was confirmed, and we waited for an hour for Charles to come. Charles never showed up and made no attempt to contact me. We reached out multiple times via calls and texts, but received no response. This was extremely unprofessional and a complete waste of our time and money. If you value reliability, communication, and professionalism, I strongly suggest looking elsewhere. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend his services.
I paid $573 for the technician’s time, but the work was left incomplete. After the payment, there was no follow-up from their side — I had to chase them down repeatedly. As a customer, I expected the technician to follow up and ensure the job was completed, not leave me doing the work myself. I even requested a partial refund for the unfinished work, but the technician continued to ignore my messages. I had to finish the job myself, including getting the tail lights, strip lights, and dog lights to work — tasks I clearly mentioned in the beginning. This level of unprofessionalism is unacceptable. I do not recommend this business and would advise others to think twice before hiring them. I am still waiting for a response regarding my refund.
Highly recommend for pre purchase inspections. Dont buy a car without Charles! I do all my work on my classic cars and consider myself pretty knowledgeable for a DIYer, but I completely missed the issues Charles found with the car i was considering. He saved me from buying a shiny, freshly painted car that was hiding some pricey suspension issues. SUPER easy to schedule on his website. Shows up on time and did the inspections with the buyer even when i was not able to be there at the same time. Great communication. Super thorough reports and also made a point of calling me after each car inspection to talk it through and answer any questions. Customer service like this doesn't exist anymore. Definitely work with this guy. I'm so happy with the car I ended up buying and happy I didn't get any of those shiny lemons!
Charles is an excellent mechanic, and cool person as well! I really dislike dealing with all things car related and Charles made the experience easy, comfortable, and even fun! He is extremely knowledgeable, and taught me a lot of helpful things about my car. He listened to what I needed, and solved the problem at hand quickly. I highly recommend his services!
