The staff signed me up for a membership without asking me first. After the first month I was charged I tried canceling online which did not work. This time I called their number and after being left in a queue, called back, hung up on immediately, then repeating again until I wasn't hung up on I was finally able to cancel. I don't know if every ModWash does this or just this location, but it has tainted my perception of the brand and I will never be back.
I've given a lot of money to this car wash over the years and was a member. Things started out great. Good wash, good service, good price. Over the past few months, this business has fallen off a cliff. It started with the transition to a new point-of-sale system. I pulled in one day to find that my $21 membership had failed to renew. The attendant's solution was to sign me up for a new subscription at a higher $26 rate. Things have since gotten worse. The cameras can no longer differentiate between the D in my license plate and a 0. This requires manual intervention from an employee each time I enter the car wash. This seems to be a routine problem for the employees who have recently taken on a beaten down and dejected appearance. My latest visit resulted in another billing renewal error. When the employee offered to sign me up for a new subscription (likely at a higher monthly rate) I politely declined and paid for a single wash. With so much competition popping up in the area, I'm going to try something new.
If I could give zero stars I would. I had a membership at this location for a year because it was a convenient location. On my last wash one of the spinning brushes ripped the side mirror off my Jeep Gladiator. It literally sounded like someone hit my truck with a baseball bat when the brush wrapped around my mirror and shattered the plastic base leaving it dangling from the wires. They even had a video of the event, but pointed to their sign saying they aren’t responsible for any damage. Can you imagine any other industry where this would be acceptable? Don’t trust this company with your vehicle.
I visited ModWash and had an excellent experience thanks to one of the staff members, though I can’t remember his name. He helped me sign up quickly and easily, and I even got a discount. Every time I went through the wash, I saw him, and he always gave me an air freshener and wished me a good day, which was such a nice touch. When I had to cancel my membership, the process was simple, and even though a payment went through by mistake, it was automatically refunded without me having to say anything. Once my car is back in working order, I will definitely get my subscription again — the service and experience were totally worth it!
While waiting for my son, I decided to try this drive‑through car wash. I bought the cheapest “Must Wash” option for $11. It was okay—the car came out reasonably clean, so I can’t complain for the price. Just a heads‑up: you’ll need to vacuum the interior yourself.
