A peaceful forest oasis just outside of Tulsa in the Osage hills. A must for personal retreats. Daily meditation, a library with books for everyone, yummy meals, daily quiet time observances, and cozy cabins with the most beautiful trails for forest bathing and contemplation. Everyone at the Forest of Peace is lovely and kind.
Truly a hidden gem. They offer communal meals/meditations and frequent workshops/retreats. They have a labyrinth, meditation cave, and hiking trails that are free to the public. The property has great energy. They don’t call it the forest of peace for nothing. Cabins are available if you’d like to find extended respite. A must go for anyone interested in the intersection between spirituality and nature.
I cannot praise this place enough. First, there is no one religion this place acknowledges as above all others, they are all treated as equal guests. That's rather important. I haven't been to an ashram like experience in over 20 years now. Besides the multiple or no religion model, the meals they provide are not all vegetarian but they will accommodate all sorts if you provide the information ahead of time. I was pleased to find out that a certain attire is not necessary for meditation and classes because it was hot and I had brought some sundresses with me. Everyone there was kind and respectful which provided a relaxing and calm atmosphere. The grounds are beautiful, bring good shoes to hike in because the trails do get rocky and mountainous. It did not rain while I was there but I imagine if you hiked in the rain it could get slippery on the trails. Statues and paintings of deities from all different religions adorned the grounds. I highly recommend a visit if you feel spiritual but are not affiliated with one particular religion or even for those who claim one path. Either way you will feel welcomed.
Sept 27-28, 2025 our weekend was my 12th step group gathering together for fellowship, peace and a spiritual time together. Just what I needed to go inward and strengthen my relationship with God in nature. There are so many areas to have this peace. I enjoyed hiking, meditation time, quiet time with God. We gathered together for meals and there were workshop times our group had for many in our group. My friend and I stayed in a cabin that met our needs and very clean and tidy.Labyrinth meditation time on my own. Great helpful staff! Beautiful location. Wonderful group meditation with David. Thank you Forest of Peace. My husband and I will be back soon. Laura (Lolly) Jenks, OK
Truly the most magical and peaceful place I’ve ever had the splendor of spending time. I’ve traveled all over the USA and somehow I had never been here in my own state, close to sand springs where my family had a roofing shop for years. This past weekend I was blessed with a gifted travel opportunity with my yoga studio 3rd Street Yoga to come stay in the cabins. It meant so very much to me to be able to come here to this wonderful place. I spent all weekend meditating, exploring, reflecting, eating nourishing delicious foods, and etc. I took more pics than I am sharing, but don’t want to share the magical ones because I hope that if anyone reads this that they will come see the sacred grounds themself. I will be back here again soon and will return many times I am sure of it!
