I booked my husbands birthday at the Attic Bar - The Arthouse Hotel. I could not have been more unhappy with the entire experience. The communication leading up to the event was sporadic and unclear regarding the room layout and requirements for the evening. FOOD- We had a cocktail party - (which you would expect suggests that food will be handed around to guests ensuring they were able to eat something)- I had clearly been very specific about this expectation prior to the night - this was not the case - the food arrived and was just dumped on a table in the corner at the entrance - when questioned the staff did a single round then dumped the food in the corner. Guests were left seeking out food which when found was cold in the corner of the room. DRINKS- the Bartender was less than friendly to our female guests opting to serve everyone else at the bar over any of the females standing waiting- it became a bit of a joke amongst our guests - we paid ahead for the 5 hour premium package inclusive of beer, wine, and spirits - on a per head basis - 3 hours into this package we were informed that we had almost reached our limit - did we want to pay extra? Guests were actually told there was no more beer - only to have beers magically appear when the guests asked for a spirit instead. I had to spend time sorting this out as we had actually paid for the entire evening. DISABLED ACCESS: we understood that there was disabled access as stated in the website so we had made enquiries ahead of time to ensure we could carry our disabled friend into the venue and carry the wheelchair in - this was approved ahead of time by management and then revoked on the night when our friend arrived - the response by the venue was to have the disabled person sit outside the party on the level above and if someone wanted to see him they could leave the party - we found this very exclusionary - and discriminatory - and after much discussion we were asked to sign a waiver to allow our disabled guest to be carried into the party - he was then only allowed to stay for 2 hours- after this he was left waiting for more than an hour outside for his taxi which had been booked to arrive at the end of the party. This venue failed on all accounts - 1. The food was dumped in a corner and not served ( this is not what happens at a cocktail arty) 2. The drinks package was questioned mid way through the night - female guests were ignored - 3. Disabled access was agreed to then revoked. The room is great - the surrounds suit a party but I could not recommend this venue at all for a private cocktail function. I was so disappointed with having to spend the party sorting out issues that should never have occurred.
The most convenient way to shop around for venues! In fact I didn't know they existed, all I did was enter on Google: PUBS WITH FUNCTION ROOMS IN SYDNEY... and the first thing that popped up was 'Partystar' it is so easy to navigate, all I need to to fill in the form with all my requirements (location, budget, capacity, music/sound equipment) and voila..! I got so may options to choose from. I highly recommend Partystar if you are looking for a venue.
Je ne peux pas recommander Partystar assez. Ils ont été tellement utiles lorsque je cherchais mon lieu pour mes 21 ans, la dame avec qui j'échangeais par e-mail était charmante, rien n'était jamais trop demandé ! J'ai trouvé le lieu parfait et j'ai passé la meilleure soirée, tout cela grâce à eux.
Partystar m'a beaucoup aidé pour mon 21e anniversaire. J'étais stressé(e) de savoir où organiser mon 21e anniversaire avec seulement un mois avant la date. Partystar m'a permis de parcourir tous les lieux à Sydney qui étaient disponibles pour cette date. J'ai contacté quelques lieux via partystar mais malheureusement aucun d'entre eux n'a répondu. J'ai alors contacté partstar pour les prévenir et ils ont répondu dans les 24 heures. J'ai finalement appelé le lieu moi-même et me suis référé aux détails de ce lieu sur partystar, ce qui m'a vraiment aidé à comprendre le lieu. Le lieu est incroyable et les photos sur partystar correspondent au lieu lui-même. J'utiliserais définitivement partystar à nouveau car c'est tellement facile à utiliser et le personnel est tellement sympathique et serviable. Merci encore à partystar.
Mon mari et moi avons organisé la réception de notre mariage au The Observatory Lounge à Hobart, TAS, à la fin juin de cette année. Bien que certains amis aient été sceptiques quant à l'emplacement, nous leur avons tous donné tort. C'était parfait ! Le lounge était douillet et confortable, avec une ambiance parfaite fournie par un éclairage doux mais suffisant, un système sonore qui permettait de jouer notre propre musique, et une atmosphère détendue et élégante. Les serveurs étaient compétents, aimables, efficaces et attentifs. Ils ont même aidé nos grands-parents par la sortie VIP située à l'arrière pour éviter la foule qui se rassemblait à l'avant, avant que le lounge n'ouvre au public à 23h. Nous avons travaillé en étroite collaboration avec Thom Gunter, et il était tout simplement merveilleux à travailler avec — aimable, serviable et flexible. C'était un bel endroit, et nous en étions complètement satisfaits. Très recommandé.
