One of the best steaks I have ever had! Last week we had three courses here, all of them did not disappoint. The short rib croquettes were very good, my fiancé had the bread, which came well presented with salted butter. For a main we shared a 500g, medium Chataubriande. This was excellent, cooked perfectly and almost melt in your mouth. We chose the beef fat chips and fire roasted carrots to accompany the steak. Both very nice. Dessert, we both had the Malted milk cheesecake. The harshness of the blackberry sorbet went surprisingly well with the softer taste of the cheesecake itself. And I loved the touch of honeycomb. I would like to give a special thanks to Laura, our server, who took the time to explain everything about the different steaks to us in perfect detail as we had never been before. She was attentive but not invasive and the timing of service was impeccable. The restaurant is on the more expensive side but the quality of food makes it well worth it. I will be recommending Pasture to friends and I look forward to returning. On a side note, I love the decor of the aging beef and the cleavers on the walls. And showing the sources of the produce on the menu is brilliant. I appreciate knowing where things have came from.
Came here for the first time to celebrate my husband's birthday. Really enjoyed the meal and service particularly from Dylan. The gave us complementary short rib croquettes and a chocolate dessert for my husband. We had the Chateaubriand for our main which was cooked to perfection. Along with our steak we could select two sides (we chose the truffle fries and kohlrabi som tam salad), and two different sauces (we had classic peppercorn and whiskey teriyaki), which were of a generous size. For dessert I had the cheesecake, it was really nice but the slice was quite small for the price. Would definitely come back.
this restaurant was recommended via Tiktok and I wasn’t sure about it at first as I am very particular about food quality but they exceeded my expectations beyond measures. I would definitely say to book the restaurant in advance just to be safe. Restaurant was easy to locate on the corner of the road, the interior of the place is amazing! upon arrival, the staff by the door were very welcoming and friendly as escorted us to our table. The toilets are clean and maintained to good standards: no urine, tissue etc on the floor - very presentable. Upon being seated, they gave us a small bowl/plate with water and lemon to clean our hands (lemon breaks down oil). Our waitress that stood out to us was Petra. she did her job exceptionally, cleared the table often and changed the cutlery, explained everything very clearly to us as it was our first visit. Petra was very conversational and I let her be in charge of my cocktails and it was the best choice I made as she gave recommendations based on my palette. We ordered: Foods: Individually: - Ribeye (medium), skinny fries, chimichurri, peppercorn. - Lamb rump (well done), skinny fries, chimichurri, peppercorn. - Sirloin(medium), peppercorn, chimichurri. To share: - Spinach gratin (serves 2-3) £6.95 - Green salad (serves 1-2 depending on how much you love salad). £5.95 - Crispy fried chicken wings (approx 4 wings) £9.50 - Crispy squid (basically calamari but it is WORTH IT) £10.50 - Fried potatoes £5.95 - Grilled mushrooms £6.95 Drinks: - Water for the table - Dill and lemongrass margarita (highly recommend) - £11 - Paloma spritz - £11 - 3rd cocktail (couldn’t remember 😭💔) - 2023 Louis Latour, Grand Ardèche Chardonnay Also, you would spend about £30-£35pp in my opinion but it was higher as I ordered cocktails etc. The bill in total came to £195.93 (without service charge) and I have no regrets because it was worth it. To end the meal, they brought a dessert with candles to celebrate their birthdays(the dessert was quite rich in chocolate so we weren’t a fan, but nevertheless, the food and the ambience was appreciable. All the staff here deserve their flowers because of how well they treated my family and I and the way they went above and beyond was immeasurable to make the experience feel special.
Great restaurant overall, but it didn’t get off to the best start. We visited as a family of four, two adults and two children aged 15 and 13. We arrived about 15 to 20 minutes early and went to the bar for drinks. I ordered a beer and a Diet Coke and was told they would be brought straight over. Two other customers ordered cocktails after me and theirs were made immediately. I was asked to wait around the corner and ended up waiting close to 20 minutes for two very simple drinks. It’s not a major issue on its own, but frustrating given it was bar service and the order was straightforward. Thankfully, the food more than made up for it. We shared the Chateaubriand, cooked medium rare, and it was spot on. The largest size available was 800 g. This may have been down to supply, but ideally we would have ordered a bit more. We didn’t want to add another large steak alongside it. In the end, it worked out well and we weren’t overly full. Starters were strong, especially the short rib croquettes and the squid ink crispy squid. The chicken wings were also very good. The belly pork was fine but not a highlight, Hawksmoor does this better. Sides were solid across the board. The macaroni cheese was particularly good and worth ordering. Spinach gratin and skinny fries were well done. We went for the house red, decent enough and sensibly priced. Overall, good quality food, fair pricing for the standard of meat, and a nice atmosphere. Service improved after the initial hiccup. I’d happily return, but the start could have been handled better.
Sean!! Thank you so much for making our spontaneous, child free, anniversary lunch special. You looked after us so well from start to finish. Great service, Great humour and knew what we needed when we needed it. The food was goooood. We will defo be back. Id say four sides is more than enough for 2 people as the portions are generous. The steaks were just so so so nice full of flavour. Cooked well. The sticky pudding.....oh my goodness. Forgot to take a picture but its the best Ive had. We will definitely recommend this to friends and would love to come back and try the roast. Thanks for a great lunch Sean and the Pasture team!
