Be sure to confirm the details of your dog's care before proceeding with the extra vaccinations they require here, especially if your dog needs medication. They are not able to accommodate a 12-hour medication schedule - and instead planned to give our dog his insulin dose 3 hours early. They said other vets had approved this, but my understanding is it can be life threatening. Unfortunately when they said they could handle a dog with diabetes, I made an incorrect assumption that they could work with his medication schedule and now we've spent a few hundred dollars on extra vaccines for our three dogs that we had planned to board there but can't. :( Disappointed!
Preferred is the best boarding business we’ve come across and we’ve tried several. The people who work there genuinely care about the dogs.
I called a few times to check on availability and nobody answered the phone so I stopped by and was able to speak to someone which was difficult because they had to keep pausing the conversation to check dogs in. I came prepared with my dog’s records of which a copy was made and was told that there was a wait list until Mid March, it’s May 1st and nobody ever called me. It appears a decision was made without ever evaluating my dog. I hoped it would work for him because he’s a boxer and I saw boxer’s in some of the photos posted to Instagram so I thought he’d actually have dogs of the same energy level to play with. I gave 1 star because the customer service was lacking in my experience and I wouldn’t recommend this business to anyone.
This place is brilliant. I have been coming here for 11 years with my pup, even though I don't live in NJ anymore. He's so happy here and loves to stay so much that he doesn't even look back at me when he goes off to play. I never worry about him while I'm away as I suspect he has a better time on vacay at preferred pet care than I do on my vacay. 😀♥️
The Preferred Pet Care team is amazing! My pup Moose ❤️❤️❤️ loves going to daycare. He bounds in the morning and is the busy pup playing all day. Highly recommend the PPC team. The proof is in the picture
