We recently enrolled our 1‑year‑old German Shepherd mix, Kip, in Prestige’s two‑week board‑and‑train program, and the results have been incredible. Kip used to lunge toward other dogs out of excitement, struggled with basic structure, and treated us like chew toys, but not anymore! He came home noticeably more focused, confident, and responsive. His everyday markers are solid, and walks have become enjoyable instead of stressful. Huge thank‑you to Ulysses and the entire Prestige team for the amazing transformation. Roux now waits and sits calmly at the door before going in, and he’s learned important commands like place, sit, and down, plus a few other helpful skills that have made our daily routine so much smoother. I am happy that I chose Prestige Dog Training to assist me in training my puppy. The private training sessions had been very effective in disciplining my dog to potty indoors and outdoor. Uyless cares about dogs as they were his. I couldn’t find a XXS dog collar for my Morkie, and after my training session had ended at 5:00 pm, Uyless brought me a collar for my dog at 7:00 pm. I was so grateful for this kind gesture. I have experienced the pure joy of adopting rescued labs. Each rescue was enrolled in dog obedience classes, as required by the rescue organization. My third rescued, lab, Charlotte, was adopted at 5 months of age. After a full examination, my veterinarian assessed that Charlotte was very intelligent, and she stated Charlotte's success was dependent on me. The training bar was raised several notches! Enter Ulysses and Prestige Dog Training Academy private lessons. Although I'm considered a seasoned dog owner, I was nervous about the training to reach the expectations set by my veterinarian and, also, to do right by Charlotte. Dog training teaches the basic commands, ensuring your dog becomes a good canine citizen. However, through Ulysses' training, I obtained a more in-depth awareness of my role as a dog owner, such as to be proactive rather than reactive and to think about what I wanted Charlotte to do and not so much to correct undesirable behavior. I came to understand the "how" and "why" of dog behavior and learned that dogs are contextual and not stubborn or disobedient. The key to effective dog training is communication and solutions based from kindness. The Prestige Dog Training Academy philosophy is based on the ABC's of Operant Conditioning - Antecedent, Behavior, Consequence. Armed with this knowledge, I have confidence on what to do in any situation and how to address or manage any behavior exhibited by Charlotte. I'm active with civic and volunteer groups in my community and have received compliments from associates and colleagues that Charlotte is a calm, confident and well-mannered dog. Private lessons with Charlotte started at my home but switched to Saturdays at the Prestige Dog Training Academy in Chicago due to my work schedule. Colleagues were amazed that I traveled over 20 miles to continue Charlotte's training, but this reflects how much I valued our training sessions with Ulysses. When you want the best, you will happily go the distance. To define Ulysses as an expert dog trainer is accurate. However, he provides so much more. We had an amazing experience doing private lessons with Ulysses at Prestige Dog Training! From the very first session, it wasn’t just basic obedience, Ulysses tailored each lesson specifically to our dog’s personality and challenges. Our pup had issues with impulse control, leash pulling, and greeting guests at the door, and within just a few sessions, we saw huge improvements.
