It’s good during the semester, but the day after my first semester ended it said on Google that it was open, but when I went there it was closed.
It has a variety of ways to exercise. Something for everyone. There are swimming facilities, rock wall, classes, weights and cardio, and that is just what I saw on my first time.
This gym is closed too much idk why. In summer they close on the weekends and today they are closed until 9/2 because of Labor Day which is weird because Labor Day is tomorrow not today so why are they taking a three day vacation????
This gym isn't very good. Even though most of the staff are students, they really need to be taught how to be friendly. My membership expired because I hadn't registered for my classes for the upcoming semester yet. I didn't realize it and went to the gym, where I had to pay almost $11 to get in as a guest. The next day, I registered for my classes and called the gym to ask if I could get in that day since my membership should have been renewed. They told me yes on the phone, but later that afternoon, before I went, I called again to confirm and they refused to let me in with my student membership. I don't understand the inconsistency in how they operate. It seems like the student staff aren't trying to help other students; instead, they're just trying to get money out of them. Students don't have a lot of money to spend $10 every day to use the gym. I think they've lost another person's trust.
I was brought as a guest and payed the $10 for the guest pass (workers were rude). My friend and i went into a racket ball court (all 4 courts were EMPTY) to stretch and rehearse a dance for her UTSA org. We then got approached by a staff member and were asked to leave the courts because we were not playing racket ball. We weren’t disturbing anyone (there was no one even around us) and if the courts would have gotten used then we would have left as we understand what the courts are meant for but like I said there was NO ONE THERE. We then asked where else we could practice and they said there was no place for her to practice her dance. We then asked if we could practice in a small corner of a regular court and they still said no. we made a call before we went in to make sure it was okay and they told us Yes, we could practice in the open gyms. Didn’t even get to use 5 minutes of the rec before being kicked out. In past times that I have visited I have never had this issue where I couldn’t use the racket ball courts. Why now? I’ve Seen multiple people use the courts for other activities as well as the basketball courts. Bad experience with both employees and the services that you offer.
