Did a great job restoring a handmade one of a kind wooden chair made in Malawi after it was damaged in our move. Beautiful and high quality work. Thank you to Jared, Joe and the whole team!
Recommend any military member record the inspection. As what they say verbally during the inspection and what they send to the TSP are very different. Edit: Response (I initially mixed up a report on a couch and a cabinet I have edited for a second time as the company rightly pointed out what I posted on the couch was inaccurate as it did not reference transit damage) - Yes but you told me the damage was transit related and your report to the insurance company was that the damage was not transit related. We had a china cabinet that was fully intact at origin. When it was delivered the joined corner was separated from the top to the bottom of the piece. The piece is now not stable to hold our glassware. The report states "There isn't any evidence of transit damage". If a piece of furniture enters a crate in one condition and leaves the crate 2.5 months later in a different condition the damage happened in transit. Your report wasn't accurate.
Be as thorough as possible when making a claim, this company is not your friend. Be clear and repeat what your items are worth, they low balled what I originally said my items were worth by a few hundred. Lastly remember they are not here to help you they are here to minimize the cost of damages made by the movers, all verbiage is dumbing down what you said and pointing the finger back at you. They will get on here and fight every review to still make SM’s look money hungry, if items are damaged we should get atleast something to help PCSing is hard enough.
Inspected damaged furniture after a move to the island. In their infinite wisdom they were able to discern what damage was “fresh” and what damage wasn’t. Fortunately for the moving company and according to restoration furniture repair, the holes in my couch, pressure spots on my tv, chips out of my dresser, and 6 damaged dining chairs weren’t fresh, after two months of transportation from the east coast. Offered a fraction of the claimed damage amount because one person has a psychic ability to know when our furniture was broken in the last three months.
I just had the pleasure of working with the owner today, as he repaired our King Master Bedroom set. After seeing the damage done during the move out here, my wife was very discouraged. I was certain that it couldn't be repaired.... Boy was I wrong. Joe turned a scratched and flawed headboard, with scratched corners into a brand new bedroom set. He was efficient, professional, delightful to work with and was totally accommodating. For top notch furniture repair and restoration, look no further. Great job Joe! Thanks for the job well done!
