I have visited this barbershop two times, and both times the barber has said something like “I have a vision for your hair” and then has just started cutting my hair. Both times, he has given me haircuts that I don’t like. He seems like a nice enough guy, and the reviews on here suggest that my experience is an outlier, but I’m extremely annoyed that, on two occasions, I have walked in looking only for something between a trim and a cut and, on two occasions, have walked out with two thirds of my hair on the ground. Maybe the issue has something to do with me and my hair in particular, but in my experience, the barber needs to learn to slow down, ask questions, ignore his “vision,” and give the customer what he wants. Edit: After a day of thinking about it, I want to add that the cut that Cano gave me is good. It’s just not what I wanted, and I still would prefer if he took the time to ask me what I wanted rather than giving me what he wanted.
Cano was great! Super nice and I just showed him a pic of the fade I like and he knew exactly what to do. Highly recommend!
I've struggled to find a barber that works with my second-shift schedule, and that's led me to many disappointments. Cano not only accommodated me, he went above and beyond all of my expectations in every way. He's very professional and the setting is superb- everything is immaculate, including Cano's appearance. It's immediately obvious that he cares and is passionate about his craft, and he's very skilled at what he does. He's truly an artist. I loved that I was in a REAL barbershop and not a "big box" type place reminiscent of a tire store with a DJ. While the artist worked his magic on my hair that hadn't been cut in over 8 years I relaxed in the chair as classical music played, thoroughly enjoying the calming atmosphere. There was no forced conversation, no rush, and he had an amazingly gentle touch. I seriously can't say enough good things about Riverside Barbershop and Cano. But I can say that I'm thoroughly impressed, completely satisfied, and I'll be back in 3 weeks.
