I had a great experience with Roof Smart. The sales person was very thorough and informative. The crew showed up on time and they had enough people that they were able to finish the same day. The put down tarps all around to catch debris - I found a few nails in 2 spots, but no other issues. It's 6 months later now and there have been no issues and we're happy with it.
RoofSmart has been a great company to deal with. Firstly the sales rep, Aymon Bouteos, was wonderful. We met and he explained the entire process to me. He was very professional and available at any time of day to answer any questions or concerns. His follow up was timely as well. Kudos. The construction crew arrived promptly. They were very courteous and the job looks great. They were done in one day with the refuse cleaned up and taken away. I would highly recommend this company.
Great customer service. Kept me informed about the hole process. Went that extra mile to help me get my roof replaced. Installers were great people and worked hard. Was a great experience from start to finish.
Just want to share my honest experience with Roofsmart. What a team of professionals! PJ knocked on our door to set up a free consultation, came down at the exact time, and educated us on every necessary thing. They were very reasonably priced. We had four other estimates from a few companies. Luckily, we did not move forward with the cheaper quotes because that's what my cousin did last month, and he is already having problems with his roof. I proudly recommend this company to everyone.
**SEE UPDATE BELOW** We had a horrible experience with this company. It started out great. The salesperson was great. They said they could do our roof the next business day. I guess that should’ve been a red flag to me - that they had availability so quickly. The roof got done, it’s fine. It has some bubbling which they say is normal but who knows. I don’t really trust what they say anymore after our experience. Now where it gets bad. The one thing I specifically told the salesperson was that I wanted the clean up to be thorough. I have dogs and I didn’t want them stepping on nails or eating whatever fell off the roof. Their crew did less than the bare minimum. We found garbage, nails and staples everywhere. The pics I’ve attached are just a few of the things we found. I should’ve taken a picture of the strip of long staples we ran over. After a few complaints they offered to send a manager over to do a more thorough look around but we told them not to bother. We had already done it ourselves. The day after our shingles were installed our elderly neighbour came over and asked us to look at his truck. It had tar on it and some visible scratches. He said that when the roofers were throwing the shingles off the roof they were missing the garbage bin and hitting his truck. He tried to tell them but was brushed off by the installers who told him “it wasn’t them”. Now on to financing. We had to finance our shingles. Roof Smart misrepresented the type of loan. Mistakes happen but a little more education to pass on to your customers would go a long way. There was also a $150 administration fee for the loan which I was told, and have in writing, would be refunded to me by Roof Smart. It’s been almost 6 weeks since my shingles were installed and I still haven’t received that money back. I’ve even followed up. I was holding off on writing my review to see whether they would follow up with me anymore or give me the admin fee refund. As I’ve stated, it’s been 6 weeks now so they’ve had more than enough time to rectify things. To be transparent - the manager did leave me a voicemail on a Friday afternoon wanting to rectify the situation but that’s as far as things went. *UPDATE* - The company has asked me to update my review because they are losing business because of it. Turns out things were a lot worse than leaving a bunch of nails around my yard. I posted a review on FB and included photos of my roof. A local roofing company reached out and offered to come do a free inspection as I had mentioned in my review that the shingles were bubbling. He came over and was able to pull shingles off with his hand and put his fingers through the plywood on my roof. Turns out that none of the plywood on my roof had been replaced when Roof Smart did my shingles even though 4 sheets were included in my quote. So all of the plywood around the edge of my roof was rotted out and the roofing nails had nothing to adhere to so the shingles were lifting. The team that worked on my roof also failed to put drip edge along one side of my roof and the capping was installed incorrectly. Among other things. I reached out to the salesperson at Roof Smart and let him know about the inspection. One of the owners reached out to me within 24 hours. He comes over with their inspector and agrees that at least some of the roof needs to be redone. Funny enough, the inspector he brought is the same one who came by after Roof Smart did my shingles and certified the initial job. So Roof Smart sends a crew out as soon as they can to fix the terrible job they did in the first place. They tell me they fired the original crew. And they gift us a $120 gift card for our troubles. That is the ONLY compensation we were offered. Kind of a slap in the face considering we spent about $16,000 with them. We are bringing in an inspector to have a look at the roof again. I’m really hoping it’s up to par now. It’s been such a stressful, awful experience. Just to add, they did give me my $150 admin fee back that I mentioned when I first wrote my review.
