Rob at San Diego Pet Training truly exceeded our expectations. We did the board-and-train program for our 6-month-old puppy, and the results were incredible. She stayed at his home, where Rob worked with her on basic obedience and manners, and we could see real progress right away. From the very beginning, Rob was extremely thorough and thoughtful. While we were away, he consistently sent videos of our puppy’s training sessions and clearly explained what he was working on and the reasoning behind it. During drop-off, he took the time to explain all the training techniques he uses and why he uses them, which made us feel confident and involved in the process. What really sets Rob apart is his ongoing support. Even after the training was completed, he made himself available for any questions or doubts and checked in to see how things were going at home. That level of care and follow-through meant a lot to us. Rob is professional, trustworthy, and genuinely passionate about what he does. You can truly tell he loves his job and the dogs he works with. We highly recommend Rob and San Diego Pet Training to anyone looking to train their puppy or dog.
Rob is very knowledgeable compassionate trainer. My 5 month old dog Cody is becoming a beautifully behaved dog, that I can take anywhere. Training by repetition and gentle reinforcements. I highly recommend him.
Rob, Alex and their family have truly given me and my dog a new and wonderful life! I moved to San Diego at the end of August and needed my dog and myself to learn commands to acclimate and enjoy urban living. We arranged everything from 3,000+ miles away and through a couple of phone calls and emails they made me feel confident in their philosophies and training methods. I handed my dog over to Rob and his family two days after we arrived for an almost two week long private, in-home board and train program. Rob and Alex sent me updates with videos and pictures every day, so even though we were apart, I still got to see my dogs progress. It was amazing to see my dog learn commands and happily perform them! I also loved being able to watch Rob and Alex's hands on expertise with my dog. I could tell from his smiley pictures that they treated him as if he was their own dog. When the training was complete, it was my turn :) Rob and Alex transferred their knowledge to me and I have easily been able to maintain my dogs new skills. We go for walks, hiking, to the beach, running errands, all of it with ease. My dog has learned everything from sit and stay to every day manners and obedience as well as being able to be off leash and responding to the come command. Rob has also kept in touch in the days after to get updates and give tips and advice to ensure our success. Knowing my dog is happy, loved and has a fulfilled life fills my heart with joy! Everyday I look forward to our next adventure together in San Diego! I am eternally grateful for Rob, Alex, their family and San Diego Pet Training
We invested in several private sessions with Rob and are thrilled with the results. We enlisted his help for our 10 month old cocker spaniel who developed some significant fear/apprehension/anxiety around leaving our condo to go on walks. His behaviors worsened into aggression and with a newborn arriving in the house, we had to have immediate results. Rob worked with us and provided us with several tools to manage the immediate behaviors and some great education for us to manage the long-term personality challenges of our dog. Our dog is now significantly happier, more trusting, and in a position where we can manage him to suit our daily lives. We’re grateful for Rob and highly recommend him as a trainer.
We had such a positive experience with San Diego Pet Training! Rob was prompt and full of helpful tips and information right from the start. In our one hour session, we were able to tackle multiple issues we were having with our dog, and we saw results within the first session. We were blown away! In addition, Rob was very friendly and communicative, following up after our session as well as quickly answering questions that we thought of afterwards. We would absolutely recommend Rob to our friends and family, and we would definitely consult him again in the future.
