Stephanie is such an amazing vocal coach! She has such avast wealth of knowledge surrounding music and how to improve your singing capabilities very rapidly. Her focus on teaching you tricks and tips to help you understand the mechanics of your internal vocal system to allow you to better equate with other artists voice, and to help you find your own too :)
Sing your Style put on such a beautiful performance to showcase the studio’s beginner singers! It was a great experience for our daughter to do a solo in front of an audience. She had so much fun! We all did!
Stephanie, thank you so much for bringing your positive energy day in and day out whenever I arrived to sing. Singing in front of an expert was something that was very nerve-wracking for me, but you gave me a ton of confidence to do so. I have gained so much more confidence in myself from singing and I’ve seen it impact other areas of my life. For that, I’ll always be grateful for our interactions in the studio. I wish you the best in life and know you’ll continue to leave a resounding impact on everyone you cross paths with!
EDIT: Since I originally left my google review, Barb, Stephanie’s assistant, reached out to me less than 12 hours after I left it. This was 1 month after I stopped seeing Stephanie. This was the first time she reached back out since then. She asked me if I left this review, and also mentioned that I had 14 failed transactions with Stephanie and that Stephanie’s “gift” to me was to considered them complete. To explain this, SYS would charge my account and sometimes I wouldn’t have the money in there yet so it would bounce back. HOWEVER, Barb would reach out to me whenever this would happen and would explain that they would need to re attempt the payment. And they would get paid. When Barb told me this, I told her I kept my review honest and that I would change it from 2/5 to 3/5 for the “gift” But I asked her, if those failures were when it would bounce back or were those 13 unpaid lessons. She never got back to me. I checked my bank and have paid them for all the lessons I received. Just had to throw this out there because it seems like a red flag that she felt the need to mention this to me AFTER I left a review. Almost like she was doing me a favor, but then never got back to me again? Again, just be mindful when going to SYS Studio. I had Stephanie as my vocal coach for over a year and here's my honest review. I'm a 21-year-old singer who started taking music seriously two years ago, performing country and rock music around the valley. Before Stephanie, I sang without technique, but knew from others around me that I had potential. Here's what worked and what didn't: PROS: Stephanie taught me about chest voice, head voice, and the mix (the blend of both), which helped me sing more comfortably and safely. I gained better vocal control and slowed down my singing. CONS: Stephanie struggled with older singers stuck in bad habits. She wasn't honest about my vocal strain, didn't provide effective techniques for hitting higher notes, and moved too quickly without clear explanations. She moves VERY VERY FAST. Like sometimes too fast to understand or follow. Even when I would have good lessons, my biggest problem was when I would go home, I had no indicators to know if the way I was singing was correct or not. I could do the scales good, but not actually transition it to into my songs. When I would ask questions, it seemed I could never get clear answers. I hit a plateau in my progress and felt she didn't guide me well in tapping into my mix. If you are BRAND NEW to singing, her teaching may suit you better. Price-wise, Stephanie charged $90/half-hour, but my new coach charges half that for hour long sessions and provides recordings and daily exercises. In a month I’ve been able to tap more into my mix than I ever did with Stephanie. I’ve also felt a noticeable difference in strain on my voice while I am singing by myself outside my lessons. Especially with two songs that are in my first bridge, that I worked with Steph constantly, I now can hit the notes or at least know how to hit them technique wise. Overall: Stephanie could be a good fit depending on your experience and goals. For serious singers, especially in ROCK, I recommend exploring other coaches before committing. I rate Stephanie 3/5 for helping me improve my voice, but I struggled to develop my mix with her and could not follow her ways of teaching.
Stephanie is an incredible vocal coach, I highly recommend her if you are looking to improve your voice. I started working with her little over a year ago and she was instrumental in building the voice I have today. Her approach with me has been exactly what I need; she is direct and honest about what she hears, gives both in-the-moment actionable advice and take-home practice to help grow my voice to be a better instrument. Being a songwriter and artist, my live performance vocals and recording vocals have improved so much working with her, and my confidence as a singer has improved more than I ever thought it could. Thank you so much, Stephanie, for your coaching and your support in my songs and career!
