Picked this place for bunch based on a post online that said it was really good. The place is definitely cute, very small but warm atmosphere. The service was good, nothing fancy. You order at the counter and then find a seat (just know it only has 7-8 small tables, so definitely not the place for a big group). The menu was bigger than I expected for this place and they had specials. They are limited in beverage options - it isn't a coffee shop. They didn't have anything but just basic black coffee (and milk in the fridge). All that said, the thing I had an issue with was how bland what I ordered was. I got a breakfast sandwich and I swear there was zero seasoning. No salt, no pepper, nothing. I have never met an egg that didn't at least need a bit of salt and pepper. The rest of the sandwich really wasn't carrying it either. The bread was bland (and little overdone for my taste), and then there was just cheddar and bacon. I knew I was ordering simple, but rarely have I met a breakfast sandwich I didn't like so I thought it was a good starting point. Maybe other items would be more flavorful, but my boyfriend was pretty underwhelmed by the waffle too. He compared it to the basic waffle you would make yourself at a hotel continental breakfast. Positive in the food side was the hash browns. They also were not exactly seasoned BUT they added some onions and the way they were cooked was awesome. Really nice and crispy without being burnt.
A very delicious experience! It's been on the list to try for awhile now and Sunday brunch was perfect for it! Very vegetarian & gluten allergy friendly menu and very chill when we had to take a second to peruse the menu at the counter. We got the elote omelet, the bourbon maple French toast, and a cookie to try and it was all amazing! Also free parking right out front!
Went to South of lane right when it opened on a Sunday morning. I got the Greek omlette with sourdough, my husband got the elote (special) omlette with wheat and French toast to share. They were really busy so the wait was about 20 or so minutes. My toast looked/and tasted like just bread with butter that didn't make it into the toaster but my husbands omlette was amazing and toast was actually toasted. The French toast tasted delicious but almost seemed under done and was falling apart. It was good food and may go back but may will try to hit it when it isn't so busy. Since we were their when it opened there were people ahead of us but we got a table no issue. But it was drizzling so it was full with no extra chairs inside by 8:20
Nice little cafe tucked into the middle of Upper Arlington. Decent, small menu with fresh ingredients. The coffee is good, and they have a good tea selection. The salads are decent size without being overwhelming. Small patties also available if you just want a small bite with your coffee or tea.
Cozy local breakfast restaurant with great food of many choices and wonderful grandparent decor. Families and the elderly gather here to eat and connect. The clientele are super friendly, too. I wish more breakfast restaurants were like this. However, because of their popularity among the locals, your food can take a while. Bring your own flatware if you want to conserve/avoid plastic. Everything is served on throwaway paper which can be composted if not recycled. I had the sweet potato hash. Everything was diced small except the toast. The eggs were browned nicely on the bottom. All tasty and oily as expected, however they use nonstick pans.
