As a family Christmas treat, we took a trail ride with Southern Trails and had the absolute best time! The team was so fun and nice and the horses were absolutely beautiful. The ranch is clean and the horses are so healthy! The trail itself was lovely - lots of interesting nature plus a few darling cows. We highly recommend to any family or friends looking for an engaging experience!
My boyfriend surprised me with the best date night here for the sunset horseback ride! Our guide, Kate, was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the ride a great experience for everyone. The trail was beautiful and the property is clean and well maintained. I loved the horseback ride and the cows and the friendly barn cat!
I came down to Austin from Dallas just to visit the city and was recommended some horse back riding by my sister. She mentioned Southern trails as she had just been a few weeks prior with her significant other. From the moment you arrive you’re greeted by their adorable farmland cows and their beautiful horses. Our guide was super cool and ensured everything went smoothly. Definitely would recon checking this out if you come to Austin.
My husband and I are experienced riders and had the best experience at Southern Trails! The horses were so gentle, sure-footed, and full of personality. I got to ride Sweetie and my husband rode Jolene, and we even got to hear their life stories which made it feel so special. The trotting was hands down the highlight, we never stopped smiling! On top of that, one of the guides, Buzz, made it unforgettable. Buzz had such wonderful energy and hearing her story was inspiring. And of course, cow cuddling with Willow was the sweetest bonus. We left already planning our next visit with friends!
I recently went on this horse trail and had such a wonderful experience. The scenery was beautiful, peaceful, and really showcased the area’s natural charm. The trail was well-maintained, easy to follow, and offered just the right mix of open views and shaded paths. The horses were well-cared for and sure-footed, which made me feel safe and comfortable the entire ride. It was the perfect balance of relaxation and adventure—I left feeling refreshed and can’t wait to go back again! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a memorable ride outdoors.
