The place just keeps getting worse! The pool, sauna and steam room have been out of order for over 1 month now. No update on when it’ll be repaired and we are still paying full price for the membership! Not only that, but the opening hours have also been cut without any written notice sent to members. 2 out of 3 treadmills are broken. A complete disaster of a place. Management should be ashamed.
Finally left after increasing parking fee to £3/visit and £2 for a towel. Only used this facility as it was local. Gym poorly equipped, pool often not clean. Steam room door never shut properly after 3 years. Only one out of four showers working in men's changing rooms, one permanently closed and others dribbling and too hot or cold. For an above average members fee definitely not worth the price. Do yourself a favour, go elsewhere.
The place is a shambles. Old, outdated and terribly maintained. The gym equipment has not been updated in the last 10 years. The dumbells are falling apart. Water fountains in the gym and by the sauna are broken, only 1 by reception. 2 of 4 showers in mens toilet are broken. Steam room door broken. Such a run down and cheap place the owners should be embarrassed.
It really isn't getting any better. The men's changing room now only has 1 of 4 showers properly working with hot water and flow more than a trickle. (And as a consequence it always runs out of soap) Equipment remains broken for months on end, treadmills and exercise bikes are promised "to be repaired" bit remaind broken for almost a year. Broken equipment is removed rather than fixed or replaced, its been over a year since we've seen the swimming suit dryer! The steam room is in need of a deep clean and regular cleaning, it can't be a big job to steam clean the grout and remove the years of sweaty filth. The hottub has a layer of grit in the bottom. The clientele are getting worse. Spitting on the floors, vaping in the pool, kids diving in out out of hottub. I've never seen so many ankle tags in one place before! The sauna is quite pleasant, as are the helpful and polite staff.
Booked my partner's birthday present here, had use of the facilties and then finished with a 50 minute spa treatment. You get given robes and a towel, which is a good size, on arrival. The lockers are a good size and the locks are easy to use. I will say the facilities aren't the biggest or varied, so if you went on a busy day it might feel cramped. However we went on a weekday and it was a nice number where we were mostly in the steam room just us two or one or two other people. Steam room is lovely, and even though facilities are small they're still really nice to relax in and around. The best part hands down was the spa treatment and area. When you go up there's a gorgeous relaxation room you can go in while you wait for your treatment, and even after it. It's beautiful, then the treatment itself is so relaxing and leaves your skin feeling amazing. I had the Ishga facial treatment and my partner the Ishga face and body treatment. Both of us felt relaxed and rejuvenated when we came out. I recommend the treatments for sure!
