Needed a replacement geothermal system on short time-frame. Star City could not have been more friendly. Theresa explained my options and the process. I told them I was VERY particular about details. Lance and Serhij protected my flooring, quickly got the unit in place. Erica and Tony helped. The details took much longer with Jeremy and Larry pitching in, later Jacob, but both of us were patient as they completed the process with a few hiccups. Cory inspected, and it passed. Ultimately I got what was promised, at the promised price.
We are extremely happy with the service we received throughout our recent HVAC replacement. Abe came out the same day and was very thorough in explaining the various product options. He was patient and listened to all my questions, and then put a proposal together that fit what we needed. The pricing was better than other companies we spoke with. The install crew was very professional and courteous. Dalton and Wyatt made sure everything was properly set up and left everything cleaner than they found it! We also signed up for a service plan to ensure the new system works great for years to come. Thank you!
I booked an online appointment. (Which was very convenient). Brandon came out in the time frame I booked. He was very professional and explained everything in detail about what was wrong with my furnace. Tried to get replacement parts to repair my 39 year old furnace. The heat exchanger was compromised and the inducer motor locked up. Heat exchanger was obsolete. Out of the upmost concern for safety he recommended replacement. Not because I believe he has a quota to sell, again, safety was his concern. I asked If they has someone that could come and give me a quote. Abe come out on the same day and was awesome! Installed today. Alex and his partner did a great job. Will recommend to anyone who wants to listen. Much thanks to the whole crew from Star City!
The tech was nice and respectful but I can’t help but feel like I got swindled. I set up an appointment because I was pretty sure my capacitor on my heat pump was bad. I was told on the phone there would be an $89 diagnostic fee and the tech would quote the rest once they determined the issue. He ended up replacing the capacitor before any pricing was discussed or the work was agreed upon. The final price was $255 if I joined their VIP membership, $312 if I didn’t. I asked for a breakdown of parts vs labor and didn’t get a solid answer. Something about how the capacitor was at least $250. I don’t know the exact model capacitor but a quick google search shows $20-50. I agree to pay $312 and as he’s going through the paperwork it jumps to $350. He can’t really explain why except for the $312 he wrote on the paper was wrong. I pay and he leaves. I go out to look at my outside unit and it’s missing most of the screws on the electrical cover and the metal is bent out of form. I don’t have any issue paying a fair price for parts and labor but it was frustrating to not know the cost after diagnosis, be potentially lied to about the parts cost, and then have the final cost go up unexpectedly. The tech seemed nervous, maybe he’s new.
Setting up an appointment was easy over the phone. I was provided with all the info to ensure I wouldn't be surprised by the cost of the HVAC diagnostic fee, and that it would be applied to the repair cost if I decided to proceed. The technician was friendly and professional. He was able to diagnose the issue quickly and accurately. After we agreed on the repair cost, he fixed the problem quickly. I'm very grateful that Trevor came and fixed our HVAC system - it was an emergency, and he acted quickly. The following day, he informed me that they had the necessary supply to fix the HVAC. He also tested our house for carbon monoxide. He safely put everything back and explained what he was doing. I really appreciate that.
