Wow! Everything hit the perfect note The Galbi-Jimm Benedict was succulent and melts in your mouth The ricotta pancake might be the best pancakes I've tried in the city, and the Vermont maple syrup is chefs kiss But mostly importantly, everyone is extremely friendly, amazing service
Service was awful. No one ever checked on us to see how our food was or if we needed anything. Person filling water seemed very put out, no smiles or small talk just rbf. We had the French toast which was NOT good at all and barely touched... and the ramyun which was literally just prepackaged ramen with veggies in it. The only thing this restaurant has going for it, is the bacon. Holy crap that bacon is good. Oh the matcha was good also. But bacon and matcha don't make a restaurant. So very disappointed. Won't be back.
Came here right at 9 a.m. on a Monday for breakfast. The interior has a nice modern café and homey feel. Unfortunately, the service wasn’t the best. Our server forgot to order my food, so I had to wait until everyone else was finished eating before mine came out. They offered me a specialty fruit drink and 20% off my dish, which ended up being about $5 off. I appreciated the gesture, but considering the situation, I think comping the dish would’ve been more appropriate, especially since I don’t drink juice or soda, so the fruit drink went untouched. As for the food, the French toast was definitely the highlight with a crispy outside and creamy center that was really well done. I ordered the Surisan Scramble, which was decent, though the bread that came with it was a bit burnt. Overall, the food was pretty good, but the service missed the mark and made the experience just okay.
Visiting SF for four days .. went here TWICE! First time loved it so much so we had to go again!!! Chicken cup bap was sooo good! Had the veggie scrambler w a side of beef patty. Very yummy and satisfying. Cute patio.
Dining at Surisan was truly delightful! The kimchi stew came bubbling hot, with a rich and mildly spicy broth that paired perfectly with rice. The Korean fried chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy inside, seasoned just right and complemented by refreshing pickled radish. The stone pot bibimbap was colorful and hearty, featuring fresh vegetables, tender beef, and a perfectly cooked fried egg that added extra flavor. The warm atmosphere and attentive service made the experience even better. Overall, both the food and ambiance were excellent—definitely a restaurant worth recommending!
