This was my first time at Sushi-san, and I had a great experience. For appetizers, I really enjoyed the Tako Taco and Saba noodles. The spicy scallop maki had a rich, well-balanced umami flavor. For dessert, I loved the nama chocolate—the presentation was very cute, with the chocolate served on charcoal, which made it even more special.
Visiting here from Texas, and this is one of the best dining experiences I have ever had. We showed up with no reservation and sat at the bar, where Francis attended to us. Aside from the food being fantastic, Francis was an absolute champion. He not only provided a fantastic service, but he also educated us on the food and drink we had. If you want to indulge, try the akami, otoro, and chutoro. They are absolutely amazing and just melt in your mouth.
We were at Sushi San two years ago and on our foodie trip to Chicago, wanted to repeat. Everywhere else is a first but we HAD TO GO BACK! We bright 5 friends that aren't into sushi and certainly not raw fish. They both enjoyed the Hamachi and Blue Fin Tuna with us. Sushi San was even better than last time. They are less about the crazy look and sauces and serve more traditional sushi with the best taste.
Had an amazing experience at Sushi-San! The Beef ’n Bop Sizzling Rice came out hot and perfectly crispy , the meat tasted great , easily one of the best sizzling dishes I’ve had in Chicago. The Spicy Tuna, Sesame Salmon, and Yuzu Yellowtail maki rolls were all fresh and well-balanced, with the Yuzu Yellowtail standing out for its bright citrus flavor. Service was friendly, quick, and attentive even though the place was busy. The vibe is upbeat and lively perfect for dinner with friends or coworkers. Definitely good quality, I’ll be coming back for sure
I decided to try this place after seeing the incredible reviews on Google, and it definitely lived up to the hype! I was warmly welcomed by the receptionist and seated promptly. At the bar, I was served by John (an Asian gentleman), who made me feel genuinely welcome and even offered some thoughtful recommendations, which was a lovely touch. The waiter also took the time to walk me through each dish as it arrived, which I really appreciated. I’m super happy with my first experience of modern Javanese fusion cuisine here – it was fantastic. Highly recommend! 🍣 🍱 😃 ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐
