I have gotten a birthday cake from them every year for 16 years and this year they have outdone themselves so I thought they deserved a good review. We also love all of their other desserts (especially the chocolate pie at Thanksgiving). They are the most certainly the best old-fashioned bakery in the area.
We are so glad we chose Sweet Mandy B’s for our wedding cake. Our guests could not stop raving about how delicious it was. One of the biggest reasons we went with them is that their cakes are moist, flavorful, and truly enjoyable to eat. Many wedding cakes from other vendors can feel dense or heavy, but Sweet Mandy B’s stood out immediately for taste and texture. We ordered a three tier cake with raspberry preserve and vanilla buttercream, and it ended up being one of the best cakes we have ever had. They may offer fewer topping or decoration options than some other bakeries, but the cake itself tastes incredible and is absolutely worth it. Our guests loved it, and we did too. We would happily recommend Sweet Mandy B’s to any couple looking for a wedding cake that tastes as good as it looks.
I ordered my 30th birthday cake from Sweet Mandy’s and it was exactly what I wanted! It was perfect in every way and tasted amazing! All of my guests were so impressed, as was I. The ordering process was smooth and easy and the cake was ready for pickup on time. Thank you so much for a great cake, great experience, and for making my birthday even more special with this cake.
Wonderful quality at a great price! We ordered a 9" round for our wedding (just to cut and have the first bite together as our venue provided other desserts to the rest of the guests). The team at Sweet Mandy B's was great to work with and matched our wedding crest/design to perfection! Tasted great and was overall a smooth, pleasant process. I would recommend them to anyone else looking for a custom design on a tasty cake. :)
Sweet Mandy B’s is the BEST bakery of all time; you cannot change my mind. Super premium, high-quality, real butter and sugar, “homemade” desserts! I have NEVER been disappointed with anything I have purchased there. Seeing as they are the BEST and my ALL-TIME-FAVORITE, I decided we would use them for our wedding desserts because I wanted to share their goodness with our friends and family. Boy did they come through! Everyone LOVED the frosted cookies, the chocolate chip cookies, the mini cupcakes, and especially the frosted rice krispie treats (which confused them at first but everyone ended up loving the most). We also purchased a small wedding cake from them and of course, it was perfect. Bailey, event organizer for the bakery, listened to our picture for how we wanted the cake to look, accommodate our other dessert needs, and exceeded our expectations overall. The cake tasting process was fun too because they give you 6 of their giant and delicious cupcakes, all different flavors and frostings and allow you to test them before you make a choice; free of charge of course. I could not be HAPPIER with the customer service and more importantly the overall quality and taste of our wedding desserts and cake. I would utilize them 1000% more, if I still lived in IL - we had to drive all the way to Chicago on the day of our wedding rehearsal to pick up our desserts for our WI wedding and I have NO REGRETS!! I wanted Sweet Mandy B’s and I got it!! Any time I am in Chicago, I make sure to visit the Lincoln Park location, my personal favorite.
