This place feels like such a hidden gem. I moved to the Sylvania area a couple of years ago, and Art Supply Depot has become my favorite place to go when I want to buy myself something fun to inspire some creativity. It has become a go to for gifts, and also impulse purchases, and the staff is always so kind and informative, so I am never afraid to ask questions, as everyone is always able to answer them.
I came in to get gifts and the people there were so friendly and helped me right away since I was lost. The workers showed me what was best and what they would recommend. I listened to what they told me and was quickly checked out. All in all the experience was amazing and would let everyone know to come here for your artistic needs.
Uhhh-mmmazinggg selection of art supplies!!! Not as impressed with one employee's attitude, unfortunately. Was our first visit, and one employee was nice/welcoming. The other, not so much! Maybe she was having a rough day...? Go for the excellent array of supplies, not for customer service/knowledge. Edited: Thank you, Jules, for your timely response. I DO understand. I am sorry for what you're going through--I have been through that personally as well as at my place of work (retail farm market). These are rough times. Changed the four stars to five, and I will visit again. Get those tote bags--I will buy them! :)
The shop provides complete range of everything for art needs. The products are mostly good products. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The owner is very nice. I had a chance to meet her dog too, her name is Lily, the friendly little dog. I bought so many brushes for acrylic painting, a big easel, some canvases and a palette that has sponge and palette paper that keep the paint from getting dry faster. I highly recommend this store.
I have been shopping at art supply depot since Jules first opened on St Clair Street. This is the first time I was ever disappointed. I was in the store about 25 minutes or so and I was never greeted or approached by an employee. There were three employees standing around the registers chatting the whole time. This was also the first time I left without buying anything. There seems to have been a number of changes going on. I understand things evolve and maybe it's just evolving without me the at this point. I'll try back again.
