I came to The Best Sandwiches Deli because I've had great sandwiches here in the past and this visit was no exception! The best part of my lunch was the skinny little vegan in front of me ...This toothpick of a person orders a salad with only two ingredients..Arugula with a couple of Bourjassotte figs on top with the dressing on the side. The sandwich maker didn't know what the Bourjassotte was so the vegan got all upset and started to cry. The guy behind me was laughing out loud..all the while live streaming this onto his utube channel. I had a great sandwich, it was every bit a 5 star experience! ☆☆☆☆☆
Orderes through food delivery, will try again in person. Overall food was decently good. I got the torta mexicana, maybe I should have tried the Cubano. Chicken was a little dry and salty but the sauce and veggies did help balance it out. Good flavor, which is was warmer. Onion rings also slightly salty but nice and crispy. If I'm in the area and feeling a sandwich, not a bad option. I prefer The Best Sandwiches over Mikes, Ike's or subway.
We came today 5/11 and ordered 11 sandwiches. The 4 I saw first hand were not the quality we are used to getting from the Milpitas location. There was an excessive amount of greens and very little filling. The vegan sandwich on the menu shows a chicken breast - we assumed it was a fake meat but when we got the sandwich it was just veggies and not an abundance. I should've taken a photo of all of them but it was a Mother's Day gathering and I didn't want to bother everyone with photos. The tuna sandwich was thick slices of bread, a ton of greens, and just a thin layer of tuna. The egg salad had so many greens I had to pull them off to be able to bite the sandwich and the amount of egg salad was sad. The pastrami was 'ok'. The meat wasn't fatty but didn't have much flavor. Nothing in the sandwich stood out or dominated. It was just 'ok'. The ingredients were fresh but it was just missing today. We gave them an hour to make the sandwiches and it wasn't that busy when we ordered. We'll give them another try but I think we may need to stick with the Milpitas location for consistency.
This was my first time trying this place and I'm going to give my honest opinion. For the price you really get a heavy portion. No complaints there. I read a ton of reviews about the Torta Cubana so that's what I tried. It honestly was just ok, I've had better tortas from Mexico Bakery. The green cilantro sauce they give you really saves the sandwich. Without the sauce, the torta as a standalone is just ok. Not bad, not great. The chicken and beef empanadas were also just ok, but to be fair I really don't have anything to compare it to because I don't typically eat empanadas. The crust of the empanadas was crispy and flavorful but the inside was just lacking something, maybe salt? However the fried plantains it comes with was 10/10 and when you take a bite of the crispy empanada and a bite of the plantains it was a nice combo. They gave me another sauce, like a sweet mayo, which I really enjoyed, and also some pickled red onions, that were also delicious. They definitely have great sauces, and perhaps I'm just a sauce person but they were spot on with those. I licked the cups the sauces come in clean, that's how good they were. I probably won't go back, but I also think you should try it for yourself. We do all have different palates and taste buds.
We recently tried "The Best Sandwiches" new location and were blown away by how good everything was! The sauce they use is absolutely amazing and takes their sandwiches to another level of deliciousness. I opted for the breakfast sandwich, and my husband chose a classic sandwich option — both were outstanding. The ingredients were fresh, the bread was perfectly toasted, and each bite was packed with flavor. The owner is incredibly sweet and welcoming, which adds to the overall charm of the place. My husband, who works near the Milpitas location, now frequently stops by for lunch because he loves it so much. So excited for this new store location. If you're in the mood for a fantastic sandwich experience with top-notch service, "The Best Sandwiches" is definitely worth a visit!
