Tim is super knowledgable and takes a no nonsense approach to finding a solution. He saved me $100, a lot of headache, and solved my issue in short order for a very reasonable price. Please support this business - in this current throw away society having a resource like the BYTE shop is invaluable.
I was very impressed when I entered The BYTE Shop. It is literally a museum of technology Tim. The owner of the shop greeted me and was very helpful from the start giving me an option to repair my computer on my own without having to charge me. I can’t tell you how rare that is . I came to find out from him he has been featured on NPR and the Boston Globe !!! I highly recommend if you have any issues with your computer or even your phone that you get your butt down there and be blessed .
I have not actually had a repair but when i called to ask the price to backup an old laptop, I was instructed to use TimeMachine. I appreciate the honesty and helpfulness which saved me money and time. Thank you again and if I have an issue I will defiantly use The Byte Shop!
I can’t recommend Tim and The BYTE Shop highly enough. I brought my MacBook in today for a repair, and what could have been stressful turned out to be genuinely fantastic from start to finish. Tim is honest, knowledgeable, and down-to-earth. He explained exactly what was needed, gave me clear options with zero pressure, and handled my Mac with real care. It’s clear he knows Macs inside and out, but what really sets him apart is how much he cares about doing right by his customers. I left with my MacBook working perfectly and total peace of mind — plus renewed faith that great local shops like this still exist. If you need work done on your Mac, skip the hassle elsewhere and go see Tim. He’s the real deal.
Byte shop is a treasure. Whether it’s doing simple stuff (like cleaning the charging port of a phone), more involved stuff (like replacing the keyboard on my laptop), or just good advice (“it’ll be cheaper to replace this than to repair it”) Tim is the only resource I trust.
