I was in Perth from interstate and loved coming here so much. All-board Rubin's Cumbia fuelled boxing submarine as you decend into the depth of this cities underground. It's hot, hard work but the coaches and people (afternoon guy is a legend) will take great care to guide and challenge you along the way. Ruben's usually around be that 6am or 7pm, creating the vibe and saying hello. I left bruised, better and wishing I lived here. I will do my best to not be a 'lazy boy' now that I'm home. Thankyou again
Great boxing gym in Perth, friendly coaches and easy to drop in for a session. I was there for a month and the classes kept my training going.
Great crew on a Saturday morning, a solid training session, great coaches who give technique tips and help improve your boxing skills👊🏻
Very friendly & hospitable people. Came from interstate & was welcomed like I had been a member for years. Ricky also runs a top class & would recommend highly
I have many years of training experience and have been to many boxing gyms, but I have to say that the Cuban Boxing Club really sucks. I trained there for a few weeks and it was a bad experience. Before signing up, I thought it was Ruben who taught the class, but in fact, in the past few weeks, Ruben only taught two or three classes, and other coaches taught most of the time. I signed up because of Cuban boxing’s signature footwork, slip, roll, and unique training methods. But in fact, 80% of the classes are almost self-training. No one teaches techniques and there is no systematic training method. Weeks later, you asked me to tell you what is unique about the Cuban boxing training method? I have absolutely no idea. Because the coaches here are so irresponsible, I'm sure the coaches here don't even know my name after a few weeks of training. Coaches only supervise a few athletes, but beyond that, they neglect many students. I'm not denying the benefits of self-training. In most of the gyms I trained at, responsible coaches paid attention to everyone. And here I see many beginners making a lot of basic mistakes when training, and the coach doesn't even remind them when they pass by. If you don't ask the coach, no one corrects your movements, and when I asked one of the guys, is training like this all the time? He said helplessly that no one cares about you here, you can only practice by yourself and follow others, and he planned to leave. Besides,The facilities here are also extremely poor. I am not exaggerating when I say that you will bump into someone every twenty seconds. When you are actually sparring, you cannot move freely at all. You need to always pay attention to whether you bump into others. , how should I practice the footwork of Cuban boxing in such an environment? The basement is very hot in the winter with no air circulation, so I can't imagine how bad it would be in the summer. Moreover, this is the only boxing gym in Perth that charges for trial classes. Yes, it is the only boxing gym in Perth that does not offer a free trial. But out of trust, I did not try it out at all. I Paid within minutes but I was so disappointed. The coaches here are irresponsible and the hardware facilities are very poor. If you want to learn Cuban boxing, trust me, don’t waste your money.I take responsibility for my words, this is one of the worst gyms I have ever visited
