Came to try Moonflower Pizza! Made a reservation for a Saturday night and it was not needed. Only two other tables occupied when we got there around 6. The person that served us was awesome and very friendly! We were able to get happy hour apps and we tried the wings and the mini antipasti. My husband liked the wings, but wished there was more sauce. He said they were cooked well, but needed more flavor and more sauce would have helped. I loved the mini antipasti. The bread was delicious especially with the fig jam and fresh mozzarella. I didn’t care for the pickled peppers, but my husband liked them. We split a margherrita pizza and it was pretty good! Not the best I’ve had, but definitely far from the worst! For dessert we tried the lemon ice and the vanilla gelato. The lemon ice was way too sour for me, but my husband liked it. He said it did have a strange bitter aftertaste though. I didn’t care for the gelato. The texture was odd and it left a weird waxy texture in my mouth and there were globs of I think milk fat in my mouth after eating it. Not pleasant.
The Banh mi Benedict was better than expected. I ate as much as I could before getting into the pancake 🥞 which was a 12/10 highly recommend! We took the leftover pancake to go and snacked on it all afternoon.
They recently started serving dinner - woodfired pizza, some delicious sides and salads. I had the sprinkle ceasar and the roasted brussel sprouts with sweet potatoes, ricotta and balsamic glaze. Wrapped up my meal with yummy gelato. Everything was DELICIOUS and the service was exceptional.
Very cute, quaint little place. Friendly service, delicious food. We went for brunch. You went through a really cute flower shop with all kinds of fun things. Servers were friendly and our server made sure to come around often and top up coffee. He was very attentive. Food was so tasty! We got the breakfast sandwich and the breakfast Ban Mih sandwich and split them. I was very pleased and food was filling! Overall recommend for a bite of tasty things! They also have nice coffee and tea! Plus you gotta love that name! As a chicken mama and chicken lover myself, I appreciate it. ❤🐓 It is a bit pricey, but eating out is already pricey, and I'd much rather eat at a place where they try and source their food locally and support local farms and businesses.
The French Hen Café is tucked inside a lovely flower shop, and it’s the kind of place you might wander into while strolling by. We came with a group of eight, and unfortunately the seating was uncomfortable—our table was small and the benches weren’t great for a longer meal. On the positive side, our waitress was friendly and very efficient. The food, however, felt underwhelming. I had the salmon scramble, but it mostly tasted of chives and I could barely tell there was salmon in it. The coffee was good, though. Prices are average to slightly high for the area. The atmosphere is calm and not too noisy, which makes for easy conversation. Overall, I’m not sure I’d return—maybe on a quieter morning or with a smaller group, the experience would be better.
