My husband I went to The Keg last week. As usual it was exceptional! We go on my birthday and our anniversary every year and we love the consistency of the food and service. We share the baked Brie appetizer to start off our dining experience. This was followed by the 10 oz filet mignon. Done perfectly to our liking. I had the double baked potato and he had the garlic mashed. We finished with the ever popular Billy Miner Pie. Best meal ever! We had booked a booth in the lounge, our usual pick however when we arrived, it wasn’t available. We opt for that space as it tends to be much more quiet. The day we went it was very busy so the noise level was higher than normal. Disappointed but it did not ruin the evening. We had a server who we felt was new to the job but she was pleasant and she was putting in a lot of effort to satisfy all her tables. See you in July.
The service was great, I can't say enough about how professional and attentive they all were! The drinks were also well done. The food, was less spectacular. The correct food arrived at the correct time, cooked the correct way, but it seemed to be of poor quality!? The scallops in the appetizer were 6 tiny bay scallops with thin salty bacon, and no real flavour. There was nothing prime about the prime rib, it also seemed small and had issues with the butchering. The spicing for the prime rib and all of the steaks was excellent, but the chefs can only do so much. The vegetables and potatoes were all good. The desserts were good except for the creme brulee, it was a little "ice creamy" and had no crust...
This review is entirely for the server Jeremy. He is awesome!! Always checked in with us, super friendly, nice to talk to, gave us his recommendations (which were all delicious btw). He is absolutely wonderful!!! We will certainly request for Jeremy to serve us again!!!
First time visiting this location. Had a reservation and was told our table was ready, then after waiting a while we were told someone else had taken it. We ended up waiting about 40 minutes past our booking. Staff said it was busy and people were staying longer than usual, but there was no discount or anything done to make up for it. Prices were higher than what was listed on the website, and it didn’t feel worth the $100. It was also my son’s birthday, which I noted as the reason for the reservation, but nothing special was acknowledged. I’ve had much better experiences at the South location in the past. That said, our waiter was very nice and awesome — no complaints there. Food was fine, but overall it was not worth the wait.
This popular steakhouse maintains consistent quality, drawing crowds even on weekdays with noticeable wait times. The prices are reasonable, and the staff are welcoming and attentive. I ordered the bone-in ribeye, cooked perfectly to medium-rare as requested, paired with well-seasoned vegetables. While the cut was solid, I’ve had slightly better elsewhere. The upscale ambiance is elegant, though a bit dimly lit for my preference, creating a cozy yet refined dining experience.
