My daughters started attending The Raleigh School of Music in 2019, and we have loved our experience there! My younger daughter’s piano teacher, Rosa Maria, is amazing and is always pushing her to reach new heights. And my older daughter’s voice teacher, Natalia, helped her tremendously with vocal performance. Overall, I would absolutely recommend!
My son absolutely loves his music lessons here! His teacher has a wonderful way of building his confidence and teaching in a way that makes learning both fun and meaningful. The school provides a positive, encouraging environment where skills and the love of music blossom each week!
I cannot recommend this institution based on my recent experiences, which highlighted several areas in need of improvement. My primary concern was the lack of follow-through from the assigned instructor, which led to missed lessons without any attempt from the administration to rectify the situation or offer a refund. This issue was compounded by a response from the director that was less than accommodating, leaving us feeling unjustly responsible for the school's internal communication shortcomings. Additionally, the recitals did not meet our expectations and seemed poorly organized. The recognition system for students appears to be more about encouraging continued enrollment than genuinely rewarding the children’s musical progress. Children today have many choices for extracurricular activities, it is crucial for educational services to be flexible and responsive to the needs of their students and families. I believe music education is a valuable aspect of child development, and it should not be so archaically structured that it detracts from the joy and benefit it can provide. It is important for any business, especially one involved in education, to uphold a standard of accountability and customer service. I would urge the director to reconsider their business practices and policies to better support and reflect the interests and demands of their clients in the modern day.
I couldn’t be more proud of my sister and the school she’s built! The Raleigh School of Music values people over products, connection over competition, and growth over glitter. Learning to sing or play an instrument requires learning how to be a musician, and being a musician necessarily means loving music for what it is and for what it does, gathering people together in community. The folks at the Raleigh School of Music understand this, and teach it to their students. That’s the mark of an excellent music school!
Raleigh School of Music has been wonderful for my 7 year old daughter! Her teacher Anne has so much experience teaching young children. She has the perfect blend of holding my daughter accountable for practicing and making learning piano fun and exciting. The school is very professional, easy to work with. Highly recommend!
