Seen so many rave reviews of this place had to try. At best it was mediorce. The restaurtant felt warm and cosy, sign said wait to be seated and wait we did to one of the 4 staff drinking coffee at the server decided to sidle over. Waitress then showed us to a table and warned us breakfast was over, hadnt even asked about breakfast, she then waltzed back to join her friends drinking coffee. 10 minutes later i called to one of the staff if we could order and was met with we cant take orders for lunch to 12 it was 11.55 ! Settled for a dry appless cinnamon and apple scone... overheard an elderly lady ask for a slight adjusement to her meal and she was firmly told no, the cooks were very strict with there menu. Have been to much nicer and friendlier nusery eateries and i have been to a few...wont be rushing back ! Would suggest more caring and attentive waitresses for your clients.

Great food here! We both had a small fry, with an extra portion of wheaten bread. Food cooked perfectly, service excellent, nice atmosphere in the place. When we visit Belfast again, we shall defo come back! Thankyou to chefs and Brilliant staff, especially Anne! Best Paul👍x

Everything was good except my only complaint was that when we were still eating our meal the staff began brushing the floor around us which was not only highly impolite but extremely unhygienic. I might overlook this if it was nearing closing time but this was at approximately 3.30ish and the restaurant was supposedly open until 5pm. Not only that but we were being stared at by a certain member of staff standing by the Till making us feel very that we had overstayed our welcome. It was so disappointing as we had family from England with us and I had recommended this establishment from a previous visit myself. Unfortunately it went down dramatically in my estimation mainly due to the surly and uncomfortable atmosphere we received from the Staff.

Went for lunch with my wife and son. Staff were super attentive upon arrival and seated within minutes. Drinks ordered and order placed all within 5-10 minutes of being seated. The wife went for the special which was salted chili bites with skin on skinny fries and side salad, son had sausages and chips and I had bacon, brie and red onion marmalade panini with skinny fries coleslaw and side salad. Picture below. Overall total was around £30 which wasn't too bad for two big plates of lunch and coke zero and child's lunch. Highly would recommend The Secret Garden to anyone looking for a high quality meal in the Dundonald area.

THE most amazing wheaten bread (made in house) I think I’ve ever had. Just right, lovely thick slices and great poached eggs and bacon too. An all round tasty breakfast that hit the spot. Only my second time eating in the Secret Garden restaurant and both times have been superb so they seem to keep everything to a high standard.
