I had been searching for the elusive beef gyudon bowl that I had enjoyed so much as a kid — but wow oh wow I was smitten by the incredible freshness of the sashimi, the complementary aromas and spices from the shiso leaf and fresh wasabi. Unbelievable hidden gem and of course the beef gyudon bowl excelled in all ways — from the delicate texture of the rice to the subtle sweetness in the beef. My one and now only go-to for authentic Japanese! Kanpai!
What a way to end the year.. I’ve been wanting to hit up Tomoya from reading all the reviews saying that it’s authentic Japanese cuisine. Boy, were they absolutely right. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted with Iraisshaimase! And we knew we were in for a treat. I ordered the Katsu don and the wife was craving sushi so she had the 10-piece sushi set. I feel like we were transported back to Japan upon the first bite of my Katsu don. I also had a piece of the wife’s 10-piece nigiri and will say that it was super fresh and tasty. Man, I can’t wait to be in Japan next week. But until then, Tomoya, thank you for fulfilling that constant craving.
OMG! The best lunch I’ve had in Vegas for a very long time! Absolutely authentic Japanese food that satisfied my stomach and nostalgia from having lived in Okinawa. I’ll be here again and again!
Came here after leaving Savers when I was hungry. The service was great and staff were attentive. The food was so gooooooood🤌🏼. I never had this type of Japanese food before and everything was portions perfectly . I had the grill collar yellow tail combo (wished I would have taken a picture of it) and was incredible. My mom had the kitchen katsu. She liked miso soup and she normally doesn’t like miso. Agedashi tofu was light. The place was reasonably priced, definitely would recommend coming.
This might be the best Japanese restaurant in Summerlin. I first came across it on Yelp and Google with all the high reviews, so I had to see what it was about. From the outside and even when you step inside, it feels pretty unassuming. There isn’t even a visible sushi bar. But don’t let that fool you, the food here is outstanding, and the space has such a warm, homey vibe to it. The menu is very extensive, with everything from sushi rolls, nigiri, and sashimi to noodles, grilled dishes, and small plates. We started with the agedashi tofu, which was light and delicious, followed by the madai carpaccio, absolutely fantastic. The saba maki was grilled to perfection, and the sushi itself was incredibly fresh. The highlights for me were the otoro and uni, and their Hawaiian roll with spicy tuna topped with more tuna was so good. They even use real snow crab for their California rolls! We also tried the salmon ochazuke. It was very flavorful but the dashi broth was a little too salty, I would have preferred if they used matcha or hojicha, and for dessert, the yuzu sherbet and matcha panna cotta were the perfect way to end the meal. Service was very accommodating and efficient. If you’re in Summerlin or a Vegas local, this spot is definitely worth checking out.
