I had high hopes for this place given all the positive reviews. I'd been having an issue where my temperature gauge stopped working for a while and then would come back on and the engine would be a normal temperature. Got charged $205 for the diagnostics alone which Google and my car-savvy friends tell me is well above average. They said fixing the issues would be another $800+ which embarrassingly made me cry, as another mechanic that looked at it when I was trying to get home from the desert told me it was an easy fix and, as I told Tom's, I'm struggling quite a bit financially right now... did I really need ALL the work they suggested? Was the new thermostat I'd already bought for the car REALLY not good enough? Their response was to pressure me into a sketchy looking, high-interest loan service. Thank goodness I ran the quote by car-savvy friends who told me to take it somewhere else immediately. They offered to fix it for a third of the price, so I called to cancel my appointment at Tom's. They had no record of me. What a bummer. I'm trying not to speculate on why they treated me like that, because that's depressing, but I can't help but wonder if it's because I'm a woman.
Fast service. Full empathy for customer need. Affordable solution We were from out of town and had a flat tire. We were in a hurry because we had pick up our kid from CSuLB in 2 hours. Tom personally checked us in. Made sure we were taken care of fast. Also provided us with an affordable solution. We will forever be grateful! Also, staff were very effective and polite.
I was looking for a place that offers wheel alignment because I got new tires. Found Tom's Automotive Service Center to be very close to my place and scheduled an appointment. Called and in a few hours I was in their shop. Waited about 5 mins since there was a customer ahead of me. They did my car and 25mins later I was out of the shop. They drove test my car too, before and after the alignment, which was great. Tells me they really do their job very well. Customer service was great! Victor and Mario and the mechanic was great! Very good place to go get your car fixed. Prices were also very good compared to other shops I was able to contact. Definitely recommend this place!
