After hearing so much hype about Truck Yard Houston, I left pretty disappointed. It just felt like they cared more about the “vibe” than actually making the place comfortable or enjoyable. For starters, it’s basically not heated (or if it is, you can’t tell). If it’s even a little cold out, you’re just standing there freezing, wondering why you paid money to be uncomfortable. The setup is cool and it could be a great hangout spot, but that part kind of ruins it. The other thing that really got on my nerves was how every time you pay, you get hit with extra prompts. I’m totally fine tipping when it makes sense, but the tip screens felt pushy… and then on top of that they’re asking you to donate to music-related stuff too. It starts to feel less like a fun night out and more like you’re being asked for extra money at every turn. Maybe it’s better on a warm day, or if you don’t mind the constant add-ons. But if it’s chilly or you want something more relaxed, I’d honestly skip it and go somewhere that actually prioritizes guest comfort.
Ordered Southern Mule and Cranberry Bourbon Smash for cocktails. Dined at House of Hoopz BBQ and Crawfish and purchased one brisket and one seafood quesadilla. Brisket delicious, seafood fishy. Live music was enjoyable. I love the truck inspired decor. Cute backdrops for photo ops. Would like to return during the daytime.
Pretty cool place although the food trucks that were there cool use a bit more seasoning. However pretty cool atmosphere, went on a Saturday night and it was pretty dead so I’m not sure what days are best to go.
Can’t wait to go back! First time by last Friday after lunch for beers n vibe. Been to a few Truck Yards and this one did not disappoint. Tap beers cold and smooth, comfortable chairs on the patio perfect the fall weather. Inside the bartender was great and kept the place inviting. The wife remarked on the clean bathroom (it matters!)
This was my first time at the Truck Yard. I absolutely loved the atmosphere. My friends couldn't get me out of the phone booth. The scenery was filled with various colors from the colorful chairs, neon lights and street graffiti. I enjoyed a seafood quesadilla. I would definitely recommend this place as a cool weekend spot to hangout with friends
