I've been consistently attending classes at Union Pilates for the past two and a half years, and if I could leave a 10 star review, I would! Union Pilates is an amazing studio where clients are warmly welcomed and supported. The instructors are truly excellent teachers: a huge shout out to Jess, Natalie, Tara -- and mostly lately, Jo. You are such lovely and encouraging people, and I am grateful for you. I started at Union Pilates as an absolute beginner. The changes I have noticed in my body - my core strength, posture, and breathing - are significant. I haven't been to a massage therapist since I started at Union because the constant neck tension I experienced for years simply vanished when I incorporated regular Pilates movement into my life. After birthing five babies, I experienced pelvic floor issues, which were greatly helped by pelvic floor physio, but with regular Fletcher Pilates, my pelvic floor issues are 95% resolved. Fletcher Pilates has had a huge impact on my daily life and wellbeing.
I had an amazing experience trying out group classes and MELT method class. I really enjoyed small class sizes, super friendly and welcoming instructors. Caitlin and Jo made the sessions super fun and innovative. Trying out MELT class with Natalie was exactly what I needed after a long hike and I felt less sore and more relaxed.
An absolutely delightful studio with caring instructors. Early this year I made the brave decision to attempt Pilates again after a previous trial that incidentally resulted in a flare up of severe back pain. I was tentative and worried about both my emotional state and physical venerability’s. But Stephanie was excellent at navigating both. She completely met me where I was at and encouraged me to take things at a pace that I felt comfortable. The whole staff at Union were very supportive of my journey and I was thrilled to be able to complete more than five introductory lessons. The experience has opened my mind to new possibilities and I couldn’t recommend the studio more.
Union Pilates has supported me throughout my ups and downs in my other endeavors, with everything from ballet to long distance cycling. I feel confident that whatever I bring into the studio on a given day (a sore neck from a bad sleep, achy quads from leg day, etc etc) it will be accommodated safely and I will leave my session feeling better with a greater awareness of what my body is experiencing. Over the five years I have been coming here, I generally opt for the concentrated attention of the one-on-one but have also enjoyed the convenience and motivation of the group classes. Of all the movement practices I have participated in throughout my life, this is perhaps the place that taught me the most about my complete body. The space is peaceful. The instructors are respectful and well-trained. Well worth it.
