Brenda did my hair for my friends she did a phenomenal job. I have thinner, fine hair and she made it look so much fuller and perfectly executed the look I wanted. She also did my wedding hair, as well as my bridal party. Everyone was so happy and received tons of compliments. I can’t recommend her enough!
Do a trial before you book with Brenda. This goes for booking with any hair and makeup artist, but I had a very bad experience with her without having done a trial. My wedding was last minute, so a trial was not practical. Given the situation, I would have hoped that Brenda would have asked more questions throughout the process since I wouldn’t have been able to give her feedback in advance. Sadly, Brenda did not ask me if I was happy with things until after she did the finishing steps like setting powder and hairspray, making it so that she couldn’t actually fix things after I expressed my thoughts. I don’t wear makeup much, so I didn't even know when the final steps were happening to be able to interject (she did not vocalize to me when she was moving on to the finishing steps either). Even without any of my feedback, I was shocked that she thought I looked okay. Notably, she did not take a photo, so maybe she knew it was bad but I looked like a new jersey housewife from 2010 (literally teresa giudice type hair… the curls were not even slightly brushed out). I looked like a clown and my makeup was cakey and unflattering. I had even vocalized to Brenda how I have dry skin and I was concerned about her instructions to not use moisturizer in the morning. She assured me that she would apply hydrating products that work with the makeup. Within thirty minutes of leaving her salon, the entire lower half of my face was cracking and peeling from how dry my skin was underneath. It was a pretty heart breaking experience, and I ended up crying for an hour before I got married because I hated how I looked. I fixed it as best I could all the close up photos from the day still make me sad. I had a lot of respect for Brenda’s work and skill, so I was hesitant to speak up during the process because I trusted that she was well-experienced and understood what I wanted based on my example photos. I wish I had felt more comfortable checking in the mirror to see how things were looking and speaking up during the process ALL THIS TO SAY, do a trial with anyone you book with but especially if you book with Brenda. Be comfortable speaking up often because (at least in my experience) she is not great at communicating with you about how you feel things are looking and therefore, she will not be able to adapt accordingly in these situations. (I have posted this under a pseudonym for personal reasons but I had my full bridal hair and makeup done by Brenda.)
I had an amazing experience working with Brenda and Rosa of Vibrant Beauty! I highly recommend them to any bride-to-be. My bridal hair and makeup were absolutely perfect, and their work exceeded my expectations. My bridal party and the mothers of the bride and groom were also thrilled with their hair and makeup. Brenda and Rosa arrived right on time and were kind and professional throughout the morning. We started at 8:00 am and they managed to have 8 people looking beautiful before 1:00 pm! Brenda and Rosa took time during my trial to look at inspiration photos and discuss my preferences. They took photos after the trial so they could recreate the aspects I loved and happily made a few small changes that resulted in a perfect look on the day of the wedding. I was also provided with instructions about preparation for the wedding day (e.g., wash with no conditioner the night before). Brenda worked with my wedding coordinator to determine a schedule that fit our timeline for the day. They were also flexible and understanding on the wedding day. For example, after I had approved the makeup, I started to think the lip colour was a little too dark. Rosa was happy to change the colour and touch of the lips. She also provided me with a disposable container of lipstick and gloss so that I could touch up my lips later in the day. One of my friends was hesitant about having their hair and makeup done because they preferred minimal makeup and a less feminine hairstyle. Brenda and Rosa listened closely to their preferences, and my friend was delighted with the result. Finally, I was so grateful that Rosa was willing to pause makeup briefly so we could take a couple of getting-ready photos before we lost the chance to have the entire bridal party together because of a tight schedule. My bridal party had so much fun together in the getting-ready suite and we could not stop gushing over our hair and makeup!
I can't recommend Brenda and the Vibrant Beauty team enough. She is truly so talented. I first met Brenda when she did my hair and makeup for a friends wedding where I was a bridesmaid. I had never felt more confident in my life. It was like she just looked at me and knew exactly what to do to make me look my best. For my wedding day, I knew I had to have Brenda do my bridal hair and makeup and was nothing short of blown away. I felt so incredibly confident and my hair and makeup stayed flawless all day (through tears, hugs, wind, you name it). I can't recommend her enough - she is truly so talented at what she does!!
I was lucky enough to book Brenda for hairstyling on myself and all 6 bridesmaids on my wedding day! She is a true professional from the very first step of the process onward and is unbelievably talented. She was requested to do seven different hairstyles on the day of and delivered on all of them! In a few short hours she “wowed” us all and the compliments from others kept flowing- proving her extraordinary capability! I would highly recommend Vibrant Beauty if you would like to feel incredible, and have hair that lasts through rain and dancing!
